Summary

Create and teach age-appropriate STEM/Robotics courses to elementary school students across New York City and Hoboken through Togetherhood's marketplace platform. Design engaging curriculum and memorable learning experiences that inspire children's passion for STEM and robotics.

Key Responsibilities: Develop age-appropriate STEM/Robotics curricula and outcome-based lesson plans, specify required materials, and deliver consistently engaging classes lasting 6-18 weeks. Build positive classroom community, foster student relationships, and help children understand the real-world applications and importance of STEM.
Skills & Tools: Deep experience teaching school-age children with demonstrated ability to lead independent classes and create positive learning environments. Strong communication, curriculum design, enthusiasm for education, flexibility, and cooperative teamwork with a strong work ethic.
Qualifications: Experienced STEM/Robotics instructor with proven track record teaching elementary school students and leading your own classes. Must provide at least three references; formal teaching experience required, or a compelling cover letter explaining teaching passion and ability if lacking formal experience.
Location: In-Person - Hoboken, NJ
Compensation: $45K–$65K/yr (estimated)

What You'll Do

You will be matched with opportunities to create your own STEM/Robotics course to teach elementary school students at schools across New York City and Hoboken. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. In this role, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class
  • Design outcome-based lesson plans
  • Specify the materials you'll need to run the course successfully
  • Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!)
  • Create and memorable experience for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for Robotics
  • Help children understand the importance of STEM and how it's helped shape you as a person
