We are seeking a Senior I/O Psychologist to design and implement skills-based assessment solutions for our global customers, focusing on enhancing hiring processes and organizational development.

Location: New York City (Hybrid), with a preference for New York, but Santa Clara applicants are welcome.
Compensation: $140000 - $170000 / Annually
New York City is the preferred location for this hybrid role, but we also encourage candidates who prefer our Santa Clara office to apply.
About the role
In this role, you will collaborate with our global customers to implement, optimize, and scale their technical assessment programs (both for hiring and internal development), as well as work with cross-functional teams to enhance HackerRank’s products and services.
What you'll do
- Partner with enterprise customers to design and implement skills-based assessment solutions that improve hiring quality and business outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding organizations toward professionally sound, legally defensible, and scalable hiring practices.
- Lead job analyses and validation studies that establish strong linkage between roles and assessments.
- Deliver clear, compelling documents and presentations that support confident decision-making and long-term program sustainability.
- Use assessment and product data to generate actionable insights that optimize test performance and customer impact.
- Drive continuous improvement at HackerRank by working cross-functionally to operationalize assessment science in our product, services, and go-to-market approach.
- Contribute to long-term customer success and retention by collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance program impact and identify opportunities for strategic growth.
- Contribute to thought leadership and internal capability building that advances skills-based hiring across the organization.
Who you are
- Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a closely related field required.
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and validating employee selection systems in applied organizational settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in job analysis, content and criterion-related validation, adverse impact analysis, and employment law compliance (e.g., Uniform Guidelines).
- Experience producing clear, defensible technical documentation suitable for executive and legal review.
- Proven ability to serve as a consultative advisor to organizational stakeholders, including presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
- Strong project leadership skills, including scoping customer needs, managing execution, and delivering high-quality outcomes on time.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scientifically rigorous, scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python) and survey design platforms.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional SaaS environment with global stakeholders.
- Exceptional critical thinking, analytical rigor, and written communication skills.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $140,000 - $170,000.
- This range doesn’t include bonuses, stock options, or benefits for which you will be eligible.
- Final offer may vary based on skills, experience, location, and other compensation components.
