Location: This is a hybrid position requiring at least two in-office days per week at our Northbrook, IL location.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $15 - $25.
As an LXD Intern, you will be a vital member of the team, helping shape the future of educational technology. We are looking for a tech-forward, detail-oriented designer who is eager to bridge the gap between pedagogy and cutting-edge UX. You will assist in building engaging student experiences and streamlined educator tools while exploring the frontier of AI-integrated design. You will also create documentation and tools to help improve efficiency, design quality, and user-centered approaches at Savvas.
Core Responsibilities
- Rapid Prototyping & AI Exploration: Design and test AI-driven prototypes using Google AI Studio, Figma, and emerging generative tools to enhance the learning experience.
- End-to-End UX/UI Design: Develop high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows that simplify complex educational data.
- Design Operations (DesignOps): Support team scalability by organizing design libraries, optimizing design system content, and maintaining internal documentation.
- Workflow Innovation: Leverage AI platforms (such as NotebookLM) to synthesize research, automate repetitive tasks, and streamline the design-to-development handoff.
- Internal Advocacy: Manage internal social channels and communication to champion user-centered design and build excitement around user research findings.
What We Are Looking For
- Academic Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in HCI, UX Design, Product Design, or a related field, with a graduation date after August 2026.
- Design Literacy: A portfolio that showcases a deep understanding of user psychology, visual hierarchy, and the end-to-end design process.
- Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in Figma and Figma Make and a genuine curiosity for integrating AI into the creative workflow.
- Self-Starters: A proactive collaborator who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to "get their hands dirty" with DesignOps.
- Communication: Strong storytelling skills—both in your designs and in how you present your ideas to cross-functional teams.
- Location: Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with at least two days per week on-site at our Northbrook, IL office.
