About Minga

At Minga, we’re creating the Student Behavior Platform schools can’t imagine running without. We’re on a mission to make school life run smoother and have fun while we’re at it.

We’re a tight-knit team of curious, creative, and low-ego humans who genuinely enjoy working together. We care deeply about the work we do and the people we do it with, and that shows up in how we lead, collaborate, and celebrate.

Our culture is built on trust, ownership, and continuous learning. Whether you’re working from our Kelowna HQ or remotely, you’ll have the autonomy to do your best work, the support to grow, and the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of educators and students.

The Role

We’re not just hiring for a position, we’re adding a teammate. Someone who wants to help build what’s next, take real ownership, and grow with us along the way. We are looking for a Product Quality Analyst to partner directly with a product squad and help ensure new features are reliable, intuitive, and ready for real-world use.

Minga is evolving how we approach software quality. We are moving away from late-stage, regression-heavy QA and toward a shift-left, product-embedded model where quality is built into development, not inspected at the end.

This is not a role for someone who simply executes test plans. This is a role for someone who thinks critically, identifies risk early, challenges ambiguity, and helps teams prevent issues before they reach customers.

What You’ll Do

At Minga:

  • Developers own automated testing as part of their Definition of Done
  • CI pipelines enforce quality gates
  • Quality is shared responsibility across engineering and product
  • Your role is to amplify quality inside the squad, not act as a downstream gatekeeper

Product & Workflow Quality

  • Test real-world user journeys, not just happy paths
  • Validate cross-feature consistency and system interactions
  • Ask clarifying questions when requirements are ambiguous or incomplete
  • Advocate for intuitive, reliable user experiences

Risk-Based Testing & Regression Strategy

  • Focus validation effort on high-impact, high-risk areas
  • Avoid unnecessary over-testing of low-risk changes
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to identify test cases suitable for automation
  • Work alongside outsourced regression partners to improve coverage without creating bottlenecks

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to evolving our quality processes and tooling
  • Share insights from defects and near-misses to strengthen squad practices
  • Participate in release readiness discussions
  • Help refine how we measure and improve quality across the product

What We Require

An Intermediate Product Quality Analyst:

  • Understands how features interact across systems
  • Thinks in terms of risk and user impact
  • Works independently within a squad
  • Communicates clearly and constructively with developers and product managers
  • Brings curiosity to testing rather than relying solely on pre-written scripts

Who You Are

  • 2–4 years of experience in QA, product quality, or software testing
  • Experience testing web-based SaaS applications
  • Strong understanding of exploratory, functional, and regression testing
  • Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate requirements into thoughtful test scenarios
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (Angular, modern web apps)
  • Experience collaborating with outsourced QA partners
  • Experience in education technology or B2B SaaS
  • Comfort working in environments evolving toward automation-first quality
