Job Description

Platform Infrastructure Engineer

๐Ÿ“ Brazil | ๐ŸŒ Remote

About the Role

As a Platform Infrastructure Engineer at Hyland, you'll design, standardize, and continuously improve the core infrastructure platforms that support our enterprise applications, operational services, and business-critical environments. You'll bring technical leadership to operating systems, virtual machine templates, monitoring and observability platforms, database infrastructure, and automation frameworks — turning operational needs into scalable, reliable, and supportable platform standards. This is a role for a strategic, security-conscious infrastructure professional who creates clarity through documentation, drives consistency through automation, and thrives on solving complex platform challenges.

Your Tools

  • PowerShell & Python
  • Ansible
  • Zabbix, LogicMonitor & PagerDuty
  • SQL Server & Oracle

Your Role Responsibilities – Here's What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and improvement of automation solutions using PowerShell, Ansible, Python, or similar technologies to reduce manual work, improve consistency, and strengthen configuration control across enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Design and maintain enterprise standards for Linux and Windows operating systems, virtual machine templates, baseline configurations, lifecycle management, and patch readiness; create scalable platform architecture patterns that improve reliability, security, and consistency across production, disaster recovery, and lab environments.
  • Provide technical leadership for monitoring and observability tools including Zabbix, LogicMonitor, and PagerDuty to improve coverage, alert quality, escalation workflows, and operational response across infrastructure environments.
  • Work with services, security, application, and operations teams to define platform requirements, document reference architectures, and guide implementation decisions; support change management by ensuring infrastructure changes are documented, assessed for risk, communicated, tested, and aligned with operational standards.
  • Support database infrastructure for SQL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise platforms in production and disaster recovery environments, including availability, recovery, monitoring, capacity planning, and operational standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams, build standards, and operational procedures; promote security, compliance, resilience, and cost-conscious engineering throughout the platform lifecycle while continuously evaluating new technologies — including approved AI tools — to improve platform quality and operational decisions.

Role Essentials

You'll need these skills to hit the ground running:

  • Extensive experience designing, engineering, or supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms in complex production environments, with strong practical experience in Linux and Windows Server including build standards, configuration management, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation and scripting with PowerShell, Ansible, Python, or similar technologies to create consistent, repeatable processes and meaningfully reduce manual work across platforms.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms — preferably Zabbix, LogicMonitor, or PagerDuty — with experience improving coverage, alert quality, escalation workflows, and operational response.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure dependencies for SQL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise database platforms in production and disaster recovery environments, including availability, recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation including architecture standards, runbooks, implementation guides, and operational procedures for both technical and non-technical audiences; proven ability to collaborate across teams, influence technical direction, and explain complex concepts clearly.

What We'd Like to See

These will help you stand out:

  • Experience creating, maintaining, or managing virtual machine templates and standard server deployment patterns in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure, virtualization platforms, cloud-related services, or self-service infrastructure catalogs that support scalable enterprise operations.
  • Knowledge of capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and business continuity planning across complex enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and responsibly adopt new technologies — including approved AI tools — to improve platform quality, delivery efficiency, documentation, and operational decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree or at least seven years of equivalent work experience in systems architecture, infrastructure architecture, or senior infrastructure administration with responsibility for platform standards and architecture decisions.
