The Education Support Specialist manages computer testing environments and exam administration for a healthcare education partner organization. This role ensures secure, properly maintained testing facilities and provides technical support to students and faculty.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential
Functions: 1. Maintain computer testing and accommodations testing rooms. 2. Prepare room in advance of scheduled exams. 3. Maintain Chromebook(s) (charging, cleaning, storing). 4. Monitor Chromebook(s) to assure operational status and troubleshoot common problems. 5. Restore testing area to its previous arrangement prior to exiting following exams. 6. Manage test scheduling and related procedures. 7. Develop exam schedule in partnership with Program Director and Faculty. 8. Proctor computer-based exams, including course exams, Kaplan exams, retakes, math exams, etc. 9. Validate appropriate identification for admission to exam. 10. Assist students to log into exam. 11. Troubleshoot testing issues as necessary. 12. Monitor exam process and progress. 13. Enforce all rules and regulations as necessary. 14. Follow established protocol for integrity breaches. 15. Provide technical assistance to faculty and students related to testing. 16. Maintain and update knowledge of current operating technology. 17. Provide administrative support to the Program Director and Office Manager as needed. 18. Perform various tasks, assignments, and projects as directed (open houses, site tours, etc.). 19. Perform additional duties as requested by Program Director, nursing faculty, and Office Manager. 20. Maintain and manage individual and group scheduling and calendars. 21. Other duties as assigned. Equipment Used and Responsibility Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Positive attitude required. Holds high degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows applications, internet, and email Must be able to collaborate well with others. Self-directed personality with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities on a daily basis. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. Ability to learn quickly. Ability to follow established procedures and protocols. Ability to maintain a controlled environment when computer and exam issues occur. Must have strong customer service skills. Must be prompt and have a sense of time limits. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Experience/ Education Experience Experience with MS Office software and Windows environments, Experience in a higher education environment is strongly preferred, but not required. Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and learning content management systems (LCMS) is strongly preferred, but not required. Must successfully pass a background check. Education/Certifications High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
