Qualifications: Proven QA experience with functional, integration, and regression testing; demonstrated expertise in test automation framework development and REST API testing with strong focus on reliability and maintainability.

About the Role: Wiley Science Solutions develops trusted scientific software and data products used by researchers worldwide. Our core platform, KnowItAll, is a mature Windows application, complemented by an expanding ecosystem of cloud-based services, including a Data Repository and modern APIs. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring quality across both legacy desktop workflows and modern web/API platforms. You will design scalable, maintainable test automation, strengthen regression coverage, and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure predictable, high-confidence releases as our portfolio grows. How will you make an impact: Testing Activities Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases, scenarios, and scripts. Perform functional, system, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Conduct API, interface, data transfer, and web-services testing using tools such as Swagger, Postman. Execute end-to-end Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) tasks including defect logging, verification, and root cause analysis (Desktop, web, APIs). Own and enhance test coverage across desktop applications, web interfaces, and backend services Proactively identity quality gaps and drive continuous improvement. Test Planning, Process & Documentation Produce high-quality defect reports with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and impact analysis. Identify systemic issues such as flaky tests, regression patterns, and high-risk areas. Recommend pragmatic improvements to improve product quality and team efficiency. Tools & Technology Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using one or more of the following: Cypress, Playwright, Selenium (JAVA), TestNG ,WinAppDriver or AI-assisted testing tools. Use Jira to manage sprint-based testing artifacts and TestRail for structured test execution. Utilize AWS Cloud environments and CI/CD tools such as Maven, and GitHub. What we’re Looking For: Proven QA experience in testing software products, including functional, integration, and regression testing, as well as defect analysis Hands-on experience with test automation using modern frameworks; tooling flexibility is acceptable, with a strong focus on reliability and maintainability Experience testing web applications and REST APIs, including functional validation, edge case testing, and data setup/teardown Strong experience working in Agile Scrum environments Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to translate requirements into clear, testable scenarios Ability to work closely with engineers to clarify expected behavior and convert it into repeatable, automated tests Excellent written communication skills and a disciplined approach to documentation Nice to Have (Strongly Valued) Experience testing Windows desktop applications, particularly complex or long-lived systems Experience with data-intensive workflows involving large datasets or file-based systems Familiarity with scientific software, analytical instrumentation, or laboratory data workflows Experience improving CI/CD pipelines and enhancing test reliability, including reducing test flakiness, improving logging, and maintaining stable test data We power infinite possibilities.
