Summary
IT Data Analyst for Salesforce at Evolv Technology responsible for building and optimizing the deep data layer connecting Salesforce, Snowflake, and AI automation tools to support the company's security technology mission. This role bridges Salesforce administration and modern data infrastructure, owning pricebook architecture, data integrations, warehouse management, and AI-powered automation.
Job Description
The Elevator Pitch
Do you get genuinely excited when a messy data problem finally clicks into a clean, reliable solution? Are you someone who looks at a Salesforce org, a Snowflake data warehouse, and an AI automation opportunity — and sees a connected system waiting to be optimized, not three separate puzzles? Do you want to build things that the business actually uses every day, with the freedom to choose the right tool for the job?
Evolv is on a mission to make public spaces safer through innovative security technology — and our data infrastructure is a key part of how we operate, sell, and scale. We’re looking for a technically sharp, data-obsessed analyst and integration builder to fill a gap that our existing Salesforce team doesn’t cover: the deep data layer. You’ll partner with a team of three Salesforce admins who handle day‑to‑day platform administration, and take ownership of the things they don’t: pricebook architecture, data integrations, the Snowflake data warehouse, and AI-powered automation and analytics.
This is a role for someone whose instinct is to query first and ask questions second — someone who builds reporting that actually tells a story, wires up integrations that stay wired, and sees AI not as a buzzword but as a practical tool for eliminating manual work and surfacing insights faster. If data is your native language and you love working at the intersection of Salesforce, modern data infrastructure, and applied AI, this is your role.
Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6–12 months you will work toward completing?
In the first 30 days, you will:
- Gain deep familiarity with Evolv’s Salesforce org: data model, pricebook structure, CPQ configuration, Revenue Cloud Advanced setup, and active integrations.
- Understand how data flows from Salesforce into downstream systems — including the Snowflake data warehouse — and identify where those flows are healthy vs. fragile.
- Build working relationships with the three Salesforce admins, Revenue Operations, Finance, and IT leadership to understand priorities and pain points.
- Identify your first high‑impact opportunity — a data quality issue, a broken integration, an underbuilt report, or an obvious AI automation candidate — and share your proposed approach.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Own the Salesforce data layer: pricebook architecture, data quality standards, deduplication rules, and field‑completion governance.
- Have resolved priority integration issues and established a documented, reliable data pipeline between Salesforce and Snowflake.
- Delivered a meaningful reporting or dashboard improvement — something the business uses, trusts, and could not do before.
- Identified and begun scoping at least one AI integration or automation opportunity with a clear business case.
- Established a working rhythm with the Salesforce admin team so that platform administration and data/integration ownership are cleanly delineated.
By the end of the first year, you will:
- Be the recognized owner of Evolv’s Salesforce data layer, integrations, and AI automation capabilities — the person the business calls when data doesn’t add up or a new automation is needed.
- Have implemented multiple AI‑powered integrations or automations that reduce manual work and surface actionable insights for Sales, Finance, and Customer Success.
- Own a healthy, well‑documented Snowflake data warehouse architecture that serves as the authoritative source of truth for business reporting.
- Partner with leadership to develop a forward‑looking data and AI roadmap for the IT organization.
- Have elevated the reporting and analytics capability across the organization through dashboards, automated data pipelines, and self‑service tooling.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Salesforce Data & Pricebook Ownership
- Own the Salesforce data layer in partnership with the existing admin team, with specific focus on areas the admins do not cover: pricebook architecture, product catalog data, data quality, and advanced configuration.
- Design and maintain pricebook structures in Salesforce CPQ to support accurate quoting, contract generation, and revenue recognition in Revenue Cloud Advanced.
- Establish and enforce Salesforce data standards: field governance, deduplication logic, validation rules, and data hygiene processes.
- Perform data analysis within Salesforce to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and trends impacting sales and revenue reporting.
- Build and maintain advanced Salesforce reports and dashboards that give leadership and operators accurate, real‑time visibility into the business.
Data Integrations & Snowflake
- Own the architecture and health of data integrations between Salesforce and downstream/upstream systems, including the Snowflake data warehouse, ERP, and billing platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines that move data from Salesforce into Snowflake for analytics, reporting, and AI workloads.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data sync delays, and field‑mapping errors; implement permanent fixes and monitoring to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain a well‑documented integration architecture: data dictionaries, field mappings, transformation logic, and pipeline diagrams.
- Partner with IT and Data Engineering to ensure data flows are secure, auditable, and compliant with data governance standards.
- Write and maintain SQL/Snowflake queries to support reporting, data validation, and ad‑hoc business analysis needs.
AI Integration Development
- Identify, scope, and build AI‑powered integrations and automations that reduce manual work and improve decision‑making across Sales, Finance, and Customer Success.
- Develop AI‑assisted workflows within and around Salesforce — leveraging LLM APIs, Salesforce Einstein, or third‑party AI tools — to automate reporting, data enrichment, anomaly detection, and operational triggers.
- Build automations that connect Salesforce data with AI models and surface outputs back into business workflows in a usable form.
- Evaluate emerging AI and automation tools and make practical recommendations for adoption based on Evolv’s data infrastructure and business needs.
- Ensure AI‑driven workflows are implemented with appropriate data governance, auditability, and alignment with Evolv’s security standards.
Advanced Reporting & Analytics
- Design and build advanced reporting solutions that go beyond out‑of‑the‑box Salesforce reporting — pulling from Snowflake, Salesforce, and other data sources into unified, actionable views.
- Support Finance, RevOps, and Sales leadership with ad‑hoc data queries, analysis, and modeling for forecasting, revenue reporting, and business reviews.
- Build self‑service reporting and analytics capabilities that reduce dependence on manual data pulls and one‑off requests.
- Develop and maintain data models in Snowflake that support reliable, consistent, and performant reporting across business functions.
Salesforce Platform Collaboration
- Work closely with the three Salesforce admins on the team — the admins own day‑to‑day user management, flows, profiles, and general configuration; you own the data layer, pricebooks, and integrations.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for Salesforce data and integration issues that exceed the admin team’s scope.
- Collaborate on CPQ and Revenue Cloud Advanced configurations that intersect with data, pricing, and revenue recognition.
- Provide technical input on Salesforce platform decisions that have downstream data or integration implications.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience working with Salesforce data, reporting, and integrations in a production environment.
- Deep fluency with Salesforce data: reports, dashboards, SOQL, Data Loader, data quality management, and pricebook/product catalog architecture.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining data integrations between Salesforce and external systems (REST/SOAP API experience; middleware platform experience a plus).
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with a modern data warehouse (Snowflake strongly preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with AI integration development: building workflows, automations, or pipelines that incorporate LLM APIs, AI services, or machine learning outputs.
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ and/or Revenue Cloud Advanced, with specific emphasis on pricebook structures and data flows.
- Genuine passion for data: you think in queries, you build things that surface insight, and you are bothered by data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfort working independently on ambiguous, cross‑functional data problems.
- Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM‑01 or equivalent) required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce CPQ Specialist and/or Revenue Cloud certification.
- Experience with Snowflake-specific features: dbt, Streams, Tasks, or data sharing.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Einstein Analytics / Tableau CRM or similar BI tools connected to Salesforce.
- Experience with integration middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato, or similar).
- Experience building AI-powered automations using OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or comparable LLM APIs.
- Exposure to Salesforce Service Cloud administration or configuration.
- Experience in a SaaS or technology company with a direct enterprise sales motion and subscription/recurring revenue model.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and how they intersect with CPQ and billing configuration.
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?
You will report directly to the VP of IT and work in close partnership with a team of three Salesforce admins who manage day‑to‑day platform administration. The admins handle user management, profiles, flows, validation rules, and general configuration — your lane is the data layer, price book architecture, integrations, and AI development. There is clear delineation and real complementarity in how the team is structured.
This is an individual contributor role with significant organizational reach. The decisions you make about data architecture, integration reliability, and AI automation directly impact the business’s ability to quote accurately, report on revenue, and operate efficiently. You’ll work closely with Revenue Operations, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success — and you’ll have a VP who values technical initiative, trusts you to prioritize well, and wants to hear your ideas about what the data infrastructure should look like in 12 months.
Where is the role located?
This role is based out of Evolv HQ in Waltham, Massachusetts. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 3 days per week on‑site. Fully remote candidates will not be considered.
