Job Title: Instructional Technology Analyst – XR and

Emerging Technologies Department: Nursing | College Administration The Instructional Technology Analyst manages the daily operations of the College of Nursing XR Lab ensuring hardware and software are functional. This position oversees XR deployment and lifecycle management across multiple environments (onsite and remote) using MDM systems. Key duties include evaluating emerging XR technologies and applications, independently resolving complex, non-routine XR technology issues, scheduling and providing technical training to faculty and staff on XR technology for graduate and undergraduate programs. Secondarily, this role provide support for high- and low-fidelity simulation-based education in the College of Nursing. Manages daily operations of the College of Nursing XR Lab as a specialized instructional technology environment. Oversees XR deployment and lifecycle management across multiple environments (onsite and remote) using MDM systems. Independently resolves complex, non‑routine XR technology issues and determines appropriate escalation paths. Evaluates emerging XR technologies and applications

  • conducts feasibility assessments and cost comparisons to inform leadership decision‑making. Coordinates with external XR developers and vendors to obtain trials, deploy applications, and demonstrate capabilities to faculty and staff. Plans and delivers faculty development workshops and XR demonstrations for diverse audiences. Advises faculty and administrators on appropriate XR use cases and instructional applications (without instructional authority). Exercises discretion in prioritizing XR lab resources, scheduling, and support across multiple stakeholders. Collects faculty and student evaluations, tracks learner contact hours, and reports on center data and utilization. Provides ongoing supervision, training, and performance feedback to student employees. Provides coverage for the Instructional Technology Analyst – Simulation Technology as needed. Work schedule is primarily Monday–Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Role requires on‑site presence for simulation events and technical emergencies
  • occasional extended hours will be scheduled in advance when possible. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Additional Information: Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Certified Healthcare Simulation Operation Specialist certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience; 2-4 years of XR experience preferred.

Skills: Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills required. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work as part of a team.   Technical Proficiency: Expert with XR technology including hardware and software, Microsoft Office, and A/V equipment. Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion. Physical Requirements: This role requires the frequent ability to stand, walk, speak, hear, see, use hands to handle or feel and to occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, do repetitive motion, climb or balance and lift as much as 50lbs.

  • maintain equipment, coordinate repairs, replacements
  • ensure readiness and reliability XR technologies across. 20% Diagnose and resolve non-routine XR hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • provide responsive technical support to ensure continuity of instructional activities, escalate complex issues as appropriate and coordinate solutions. 5% Evaluate and pilot emerging XR technologies and applications
  • conduct preliminary feasibility and cost comparison to inform leadership decisions
  • maintain current knowledge of XR trends and share relevant updates with leadership. 5% Supervise student employees assigned to the XR lab
  • provide training, task assignment, scheduling support and daily oversight.
