Job Overview
The Evaluation Specialist will be a key member of the Partner Impact and Evaluation team– within the Learning and Research Department– responsible for managing the creation and translation of research reports, tools, and findings to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is grounded in K-12 practice, detail-oriented, and energized by solving problems and sparking solutions through systems of education evaluation.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead or support a diverse portfolio of of 6-8 educational impact and outcome quantitative and qualitative evaluations;
- Develop and implement dynamic strategies that empower field-facing teams to maximize the use of research resources and data-driven insights.
- Collaborate within the Research department to communicate data needs to support in-depth quantitative evaluation analyses;
- Attain expert-level knowledge of multiple K-12 literacy technology products, including their logic models, key usage metrics, progress indicators, and optimal points of analysis.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in developing evaluations that deliver actionable recommendations to enhance district and state implementations, ensuring alignment with broader goals.
- Provide responsive and flexible support to Sales and Implementation teams by addressing research and evaluation inquiries from the field, through consultations and direct communications.
- Adapt to evolving priorities and address critical customer issues with agility and precision in a fast-paced environment.
- Craft compelling, audience-specific reports that translate evaluation findings into meaningful insights, driving actionable improvements across various stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in educational evaluation, social sciences, measurement, statistics, or a related field preferred;
- 3+ years of research, evaluation, school/ district data leadership, or relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis with proficiency in SPSS;
- Demonstrated ability to translate non-technical questions into data-based evaluation solutions, with portfolio analysis and detailed progress-monitoring reports;
- Enjoy creating solutions for other teams and then measuring the impact of the solutions through layers of people and metrics;
- Understands and can select and use statistical techniques to identify the “story” behind student and educator data, including descriptive statistics, correlations, and regressions.
- Strong understanding of the evaluation needs of complex school districts and/or state departments of education;
- Experience conducting program evaluations within K-12 or educational technology products and curriculum or literacy initiatives.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with high quality results on projects with tight deadlines.
- Innovative, flexible, and adaptable in problem-solving and managing solutions within complex, dynamic environments.
