Full-time Maintenance Mechanic for a distribution center responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure, material-handling equipment, and conveyor systems. This role ensures operational efficiency and safety compliance across all facility systems.

Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on material-handling equipment, maintain motors and sensors, repair racking and shelving, service dock levelers and overhead doors, and manage forklift battery charging and water levels.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, knowledge of conveyor systems and material-handling equipment, ability to read industry manuals and procedures, and physical fitness for varied indoor and outdoor tasks.
Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of related maintenance experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with facility infrastructure systems required.

Compensation: $48K–$62K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to work full-time at our distribution center in Garland, UT. Primary responsibilities include preventive maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure—including plumbing, electrical and utilities, as well as structural and material-handling equipment. This position also performs necessary project management on all facility and material-handling equipment components. 

Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a warehouse environment, expertise with hand tools and power tools, and the fitness required to perform a variety of physical tasks both indoors and out.  

A day at Lakeshore looks like this: 

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on the facility’s conveyor system using industry-accepted procedures, plans and manuals 
  • Conduct maintenance and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems related to all material-handling equipment and components 
  • Maintain and troubleshoot when required all motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, etc. 
  • Maintain and repair as needed the facility’s material handling, racking and shelving 
  • Perform routine maintenance on the facility infrastructure 
  • Maintain dock levelers and overhead doors 
  • Ensure forklift batteries have appropriate water levels and are charged timely and correctly 
  • Assist and support in janitorial duties as required 
  • Demonstrate an awareness and compliance with Loss and Prevention and Safety policies and procedures
