Summary

LearnUpon seeks an IT Administrator to support their Salt Lake City office, serving as the primary IT contact for systems administration, network maintenance, and technical support. This generalist role offers the opportunity to broaden IT skills across cloud systems, scripting, and operating systems maintenance.

Key Responsibilities: Operating a help desk ticketing system and prioritizing technical requests, maintaining network connectivity, setting up and distributing laptop fleets with user access management, upgrading A/V collaboration tools, and troubleshooting macOS and SaaS software issues. Automating repetitive tasks through scripting and new tooling implementation.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include macOS administration experience, MDM experience (ideally macOS), basic network troubleshooting (WiFi and wired), physical network and A/V skills, and a friendly, problem-solving approach. Preferred skills include macOS-specific MDM tools (Jamf, Kandji), Information Security knowledge, networking certifications, and scripting experience (Bash, Python).
Qualifications: Applicants should have practical macOS administrator experience and demonstrate genuine interest in resolving technical problems, though the company welcomes applications from candidates who don't meet every requirement. Preferred qualifications include networking certifications, IAM experience, and scripting proficiency.

LearnUpon is looking for an IT Administrator to join our team. This is a hybrid role, working 4 days per week from LearnUpon's Salt Lake City office.

Our IT Team is responsible for maintaining the hardware, software and networks that all LearnUpon employees use. The role ranges from cloud systems administration, to scripting and automation, to operating systems maintenance to network troubleshooting. This is a generalist role, and an ideal opportunity to broaden your IT skills.

You will be based in our Salt Lake City Office and will be the IT Team point of contact in the office, powering the success of our various teams there. If you like troubleshooting all sorts of technical issues, have some macOS administration experience, and are genuinely interested in solving people's technical problems, this is the role for you!

What will I be doing?

  • Operating a help desk ticketing system, prioritizing requests as they arise.
  • Maintaining wired and wireless networks & internet connectivity.
  • Setup and distribution of our laptop fleet to employees, along with associated user access management.
  • Upgrading and maintaining A/V collaboration tools.
  • Automating any manual, repetitive team tasks, through a mix of scripting, new tooling, and programming.
  • Troubleshooting software issues in a macOS environment and in a variety of SaaS tools used by LearnUpon employees daily.

What skills do I need? 

  • macOS administrator experience.
  • Friendly, approachable, trustworthy character with a genuine interest in resolving technical issues.
  • MDM experience (ideally macOS).
  • Some physical network and A/V skills (cabling, cable troubleshooting/tracing, equipment assembly & installation).
  • At least basic WiFi and wired networking troubleshooting skills.

Not required but considered a big plus

  • macOS-specific MDM admin experience (e.g. Jamf, Kandji).
  • Information Security experience (e.g. awareness / experience in relevant security controls required by ISO 27001 and SOC II).
  • Networking certification or experience in WiFi and/or wired network design & troubleshooting.
  • IAM experience/certification (e.g. Okta, OneLogin, etc.)
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, etc.
