Job Description
Role Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Library Associate to support public service operations, collection maintenance, and patron assistance. The role includes specialized responsibilities such as maintaining audiovisual equipment, auditing library system records, managing social media content, supporting library programs and events, and supervising student workers when required. Key Responsibilities Manage circulation, answer reference inquiries, and assist patrons with print and digital resources. Conduct collection inventory, audit catalog records, perform copy cataloging, generate and analyze system reports. Maintain and troubleshoot library AV and lending equipment, create user manuals for library tech tools. Manage community engagement via social media, create library guides, lead library tours and deliver presentations. Assist with hiring, training, and supervising student workers and junior staff
Qualifications Education: Associate degree required (Bachelor’s in Library & Information Science preferred).
Experience: 3+ years in a library setting, ideally within higher education.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Alma ILS and Springshare tools. Experience with AV support, data analysis, social media content creation. Knowledge of Tableau, R, or Python is a plus.
