Qualifications: U.S. citizen living in North Carolina required due to access to security-sensitive information. Experience in K-12 education IT or cybersecurity program support preferred; ability to work on macOS systems required.

Job Description
The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation is a large, multi-faceted Institute housed in a 33,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility on NC State University’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh. Our work encompasses educational research, professional development, policy and program evaluation, and direct services to schools, districts, state departments of education and public- and private sector organizations. We are deeply involved in work throughout North Carolina, leading some of the major statewide K-12 education initiatives and working closely with the Department of Public Instruction, the State Board of Education, and the majority of school districts in the State on the transition to digital teaching and learning. The Friday Institute supports the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) K-12 Cybersecurity Program, which organizes and aligns business and technical functions across the state so that the Public School Unit (PSU) will have greater visibility into the people, processes, and technologies deployed for cybersecurity. The goal of the program is to help PSUs achieve Strong Cyber Hygiene and this position will be entirely focused on supporting this program.
The K-12 Cybersecurity Program has expanded significantly, and the core team requires additional project and operational support. Friday Institute seeks a K-12 Cybersecurity Program Operations Analyst to assist with program communications and reporting, outreach, knowledge management, data utilization and metrics, dashboard development, project coordination, and other routine but critical activities that keep the program organized and efficient.
This is a time-limited contract-based position that will provide services in support of the K-12 Cybersecurity Program under the terms, scope, and period of performance established in the applicable contract. Continuation of the position is contingent upon contract requirements, funding availability, satisfactory performance, and any applicable renewal or extension of the contract.
Work in a North Carolina PSU is ideal, but not required. Familiarity with general K-12 IT practices and cybersecurity are essential.
