Role Snapshot
Revenue Accountant role at Cengage Group responsible for managing depository revenue lifecycle, ensuring accurate sales reporting, reconciliation, and inventory verification in a fully remote setting. The position directly impacts financial accuracy and supports business decision-making through analytical models and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end depository revenue lifecycle including sales reporting, returns processing, commission calculations, and inventory reconciliation across SAP and third-party platforms. Independently prepare month-end accruals, develop Excel-based reporting and analytical models, and investigate exceptions with clear documentation while supporting audit compliance.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in Excel and Power Query, ERP systems (preferably SAP), US GAAP revenue recognition (ASC 606), and analytical modeling. Excellent communication, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to work independently managing large datasets.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of revenue-focused accounting experience. Experience with US GAAP ASC 606 revenue recognition and demonstrated ability to reconcile complex financial transactions independently.
Location: Ohio
Compensation: $58K–$75K/yr
