Summary

StrongMind seeks a dedicated School Psychologist to support student academic achievement and social-emotional functioning through assessments and collaboration with educational stakeholders in Arizona. The role involves conducting psycho-educational evaluations and participating in special education eligibility processes.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct psycho-educational evaluations and re-evaluations as part of multidisciplinary team assessments, consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify student needs, and participate in IEP meetings, MET teams, and crisis interventions. Maintain professional credentials, score and interpret psychometric assessments, and collaborate weekly with supervisors on student cases.
Skills & Tools: Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise and tact. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple competing tasks, and demonstrated capacity to work in culturally diverse environments.
Qualifications: Valid Arizona Standard School Psychologist PreK-12 Certificate and completion of a graduate degree in School Psychology required. At least 5 years of relevant experience in a School Psychologist position preferred, along with valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint verification.

Position Summary: 

The School Psychologist works in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to support student academic achievement, social/emotional functioning, and the special education evaluation and eligibility process, whenever applicable.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Completes psycho-educational evaluations and re-evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team evaluation and facilitate associated meetings
  • Completes evaluations within the appropriate timelines
  • Uses a variety of appropriate instruments/strategies to assess student abilities: intellectual, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments for special education eligibility or 504 accommodations
  • Score, analyze and interpret intellectual, academic, social/emotional/behavioral and other psychometric assessments.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and intervention teams to identify needs and tailor strategies
  • Participate in MET, IEP, crisis teams; act as liaison with community agencies to support student needs
  • Maintain professional credentials, follow ethical codes
  • Collaborates with their supervisor weekly to review student cases, protocols and procedures

Education/Training:

  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint card
  • Valid Arizona Standard School Psychologist, Prekindergarten – 12 Certificate
  • Completion of a Graduate degree in School Psychology
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a School Psychologist position preferred

Environmental Conditions:  Usual office setting. Travel within the state of Arizona may be required.
