THIS POSITION WILL REPORT INTO OUR CHANDLER, AZ OFFICE

Position Summary

As an Associate Product Manager at StrongMind, you will be responsible for a variety of product tasks, fostering independence and developing a well-rounded skill set in product management. You will delve into the underlying needs of customers beyond surface-level requests, contributing to various departments such as UX, product marketing, product development, and curriculum development. You will support and execute all phases of product management, from development and design to analysis and communication of results. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage product tasks with some guidance, organizing and tracking project tasks and milestones.
  • Participate in team ceremonies, actively contributing to discussions and outcomes.
  • Assist in backlog management and iteration planning, writing user stories and acceptance criteria under supervision.
  • Prioritize tasks based on immediate project needs, identifying and communicating potential risks to the team.
  • Help to remove blockers with assistance from senior team members, providing weekly updates on epic progress with support.
  • Engage in clear and concise communication with the team and stakeholders, representing the customer for the development teams with support.
  • Collect and organize user feedback, including industry-related insights, gaining a deeper understanding of the product, user needs, and industry trends.

Specific Job Skills/Abilities

  • Understand the limitations of asking customers what they want directly, collecting and analyzing feedback to identify patterns and deeper insights.
  • Clearly articulate identified problems verbally and in writing under supervision, asking deeper questions to uncover the underlying problems and needs (e.g., “What is the job to be done?”).
  • Participate in collaborative sessions to improve inquiry techniques and discover epics, supporting in planning and leading discovery sessions to identify complex problems.
  • Work with Senior Product Managers to refine problem statements, engaging in problem definition workshops and exercises.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on KPIs relevant to assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in executing phases of product management with guidance, including recruitment, facilitation, analysis, and result communication.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills to convey product knowledge to different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals across different departments, advocating for the importance of research and data-driven decision-making.

Education/Training

  • Passion for education is a must; experience in Ed-Tech is beneficial but not required

  • Experience with mobile applications is beneficial, but not required
