About the Role

• Define and track critical business and product metrics with product and engineering leaders

• Lead analytics workstreams to uncover trends and drive product innovation

• Design and analyze experiments to guide strategic product development

• Build and scale dashboards and reporting systems for data-driven decisions

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data scientists and analysts

Desired Capabilities

• 8+ years in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field, with significant experience in a dynamic two-sided or multi-sided marketplace environment (e.g., e-commerce, ride-sharing, food delivery, gig economy).
• Proven success using data to shape product strategy and drive impact, specifically by analyzing user behavior, matching algorithms, supply/demand dynamics, and other key marketplace metrics to improve platform efficiency, liquidity, and growth.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
• Expertise in experimental design and A/B testing to evaluate the impact of new features and pricing strategies and to mitigate potential network effects.
• Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences, with the ability to translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations that influence product roadmaps and business decisions.

Extra Credit

• Experience with dbt or similar data modeling frameworks

• Leadership in developing data-informed product strategies

• Contributions to the data science or analytics community

• Experience in multi-sided marketplace or platform environments

• Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, or Mode
