This is a 40 hours per week work schedule, Monday-Friday, with variable 7am - 8pm schedule. May be required to support early morning and early evening training events. This is a temporary position which will end on 08/31/2027. This is a primarily remote position with occasional in-person meetings required. Purpose Responsible for the oversight of a variety of training and communication programs designed to satisfy the training needs of university departments. Manages a project, functional area or department. Confers with senior management to determine training needs. Plans long range training goals and objectives. Oversees the planning, development and coordination of special training courses and employee workshops. Formulates training procedures and schedules. Manages training courses conducted by university departments and outside agencies. Utilizes training methods including lectures, on-the-job training, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops. Advises departments concerning creating and revising training programs. Writes memos, reports and communicates about training and development matters. Develops and trains Training Specialists, Training Coordinator and/or other university staff to conduct training programs. Acts as liaison between UT Austin and outside training agencies and organizations. Works with these groups to develop new training and development opportunities. Reviews and approves training courses, techniques and materials to determine the effectiveness. Reviews and approves training manuals, reference library and testing and evaluation procedures. Exercises independent judgment and makes decisions with some existing guidelines. May act as a consultant and resource person on procedures, policies and problems related to training. Job performance significantly impacts department operations. Performs related functions as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Extended work hours periodically required Responsibilities Assist employees with technical issues, software proficiency standards through system training, monitor employee's progress, and ongoing support. Conduct coaching conversations to promote instructional improvement and provide ongoing cyclical training. Work collaboratively to support employees transition to new technology and to adhere to the new standardized processes. Conduct ongoing assessment of employee achievement. Collaborate with training leads to design training materials. Write, edit, and maintain documentation for all assigned modules. Develop technical and non-technical training materials, including curriculum, facilitator guides, job aids, quick reference guides, online help content, videos, workflow diagrams, and web-based modules. Build and maintain relationships with Subject Matter Experts for material development. Implement effective instructional strategies to develop curriculum for business operations to include frontline technicians. Schedule, deliver, and evaluate training sessions, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness. Participate in course development and maintenance using Cornerstone LMS. Deliver course materials in various settings, including formal classrooms and workshops. Co-teach and demo core instruction for software system usage and operational business processes. Create follow-up processes to evaluate training effectiveness. Be available for consultations with management, training team, and employees. Answer on-call questions from staff. Troubleshoot minor system issues to support new software usage and business process alignment. Participate in software testing as needed. Drive University vehicles. Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree. 5 years of proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering non-technical and/or end-user systems training. Demonstrated ability in adult learning models. Experience in facilities, construction, utilities, or frontline technician training. Proficiency in developing online training courses and using training simulation and video software. Familiarity with video production and editing software, creative design software, and Microsoft Office applications. Skills and Abilities: Ability to simplify complex concepts for easy understanding. Creative and analytical problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output. Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Self-learning capabilities and confidence in seeking external support. Ability to instruct using various technology applications and platforms. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and usage for employee learning. Capability to develop relationships across different organizational levels. Comfort in providing strategic curriculum recommendations and managing project deliverables. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Experience training adults within an educational environment. Experience using Asset Works. Professional experience working in Facilities Services, Planning, Design and Construction, Utilities and Energy Management, and University Housing and Dining.
