The OPS - Instructional Designer II will lead professional development initiatives for K-12 educators integrating computer science and AI literacy across grant-funded projects at the University of Florida's CS Everyone Center. This 12-month position focuses on empowering teachers to support learners with and without disabilities.

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and evaluate professional development for K-12 teachers through face-to-face and online formats, including Professional Learning Communities. Collaborate with project managers to align learning experiences across grant projects, promote opportunities to broad audiences, and identify new partnerships.
Skills & Tools: Strong project management abilities including software proficiency (Asana), excellent written and verbal communication, and demonstrated experience in outreach and program promotion. Foundational knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility principles, and facilitation of diverse professional learning experiences.
Qualifications: Master's degree in education, instructional design, computer science, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include grant-funded project experience, K-12 computer science/AI education background, and strong collaboration skills.

Job Description:

The CS Everyone Center is seeking a dedicated Professional Development Facilitator for a 12-month, grant-funded role to lead and align professional learning initiatives across several major educational projects. This position focuses on empowering K-12 educators to effectively integrate computer science (CS) and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy into their teaching for learners with and without disabilities.

The facilitator will:

  • Work collaboratively across a range of teams to help design, implement, and evaluate professional development tailored for K-12 teachers.
  • Help to design and deliver these learning experiences both face-to-face and online through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) alongside others within the CS Everyone Center.
  • Work closely with project managers to bridge professional learning experiences across grant-funded projects, ensure materials align with CS Everyone branding and with current CS and AI educational standards.
  • Actively promote these learning opportunities to a wide audience and proactively seek out new professional development initiatives and partnerships.
Expected Salary:

Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Experience with grant-funded educational projects
  • Advanced degree in education, instructional design, computer science, or related field
  • Foundational knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility
  • Experience facilitating both face-to-face and online professional learning experiences
  • Project management skills, including experience using project management software such as Asana.
  • Experience conducting professional development for K-12 educators
  • Demonstrated background and experience in K-12 computer science education and/or AI literacy
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a range of diverse teams to design and deliver high-quality professional development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in outreach, including the ability to successfully promote educational programs or professional learning opportunities to broad audiences
