The Instructional Designer supports UK HealthCare and University of Kentucky by designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences that ensure compliance, safety, and professional development across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities: Lead design and development of mandatory safety web-based trainings while ensuring regulatory compliance and accessibility standards. Develop instructional strategies for both virtual and in-person training (workshops, seminars, classrooms) with interactive activities and learning outcome assessments.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, learning management systems, and web-based training development. Strong ability to assess learning outcomes, design interactive content, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences across healthcare and academic settings.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning and Development, or related field with 2-3 years of instructional design experience. Experience developing compliance or safety training and knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) preferred.

The Instructional Designer is part of the Enterprise Experience, Organizational Development & Learning team, supporting both UK HealthCare and the University of Kentucky. This role leads the design, development, and administration of high-quality learning experiences that support compliance, safety, and professional development across the enterprise. Primary responsibility includes the instructional design and execution of annual mandatory safety web-based trainings (WBTs), ensuring all content meets regulatory requirements and accessibility standards. The Instructional Designer also develops and implements instructional strategies for in-person training experiences, including workshops, seminars, and classroom sessions. This includes designing interactive activities and assessing learning outcomes to enhance engagement and effectiveness for both virtual and face-to-face learning environments.
