Job Description

Nurse Content Specialist, UWorld Nursing

You've cared for patients. Now help shape the nurses who'll care for the next ones.

Remember the night before your NCLEX? The stack of practice questions, the nerves, the moment a tricky prioritization question finally made sense? At UWorld, we help hundreds of thousands of nursing students get to that moment, and we'd love your help doing it.

UWorld is a leader in high-stakes test preparation and education, with products that support both nursing students and faculty. We're looking for a nurse with solid clinical experience to join our Dallas-based nursing education team, where you'll create questions and teach content that prepares students for the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN).

You bring your clinical know-how and nursing judgment. We'll give you the latest nursing education resources and a supportive team to help you write test questions and detailed rationales that keep our NCLEX-style content current, relevant, and accurate across every practice setting.

And yes, you read that right: this is a full-time role on a 4-day workweek, with flexible days and hours. No night shifts, no 12-hour stretches, and plenty of time for life outside work.

What you'll do

  • Write questions that build clinical judgment. Develop NGN-style test questions that challenge students to think, prioritize, and make decisions the way real nurses do.
  • Explain the "why" behind every answer. Write clear, detailed rationales that turn each question into a mini lesson students will remember on test day and at the bedside.
  • Keep content current and accurate. Use up-to-date, evidence-based resources to make sure our content reflects today's nursing practice in all professional settings.
  • Teach and collaborate. Share your expertise with a team of fellow nurses who love education as much as you do, offering and receiving feedback that makes everyone's work stronger.
  • Grow with us. Build new skills in item development and nursing education, with long-term opportunities for growth and career development.

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree; master's degree preferred
  • An unencumbered RN license in the United States or Canada
  • At least 1 year of general medical, adult, or pediatric acute care experience (excluding preceptorship or internship)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Sharp focus and strong attention to detail
  • A track record of consistently meeting deadlines
  • The ability to give, receive, and act on feedback with a positive attitude

Bonus points:
Experience with item (question) development or as a content developer is a plus, but not required. If you love teaching and have a knack for explaining things clearly, we'll help you learn the rest.

Where you'll fit

You'll report to the Manager and Associate Director of Nursing Education and work alongside a team of experienced nurse educators at UWorld's headquarters in Dallas.

Why you'll love working at UWorld

  • A 4-day workweek with flexible days and hours
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with a 5% employer match, available after 90 days of employment
  • Onsite and virtual group fitness classes to help you take care of yourself the way you've always taken care of others
  • A relaxed, supportive work environment where your ideas are valued and your expertise makes a real difference

Ready for your next chapter?

If you're ready to trade the hospital hallways for a role where your knowledge reaches thousands of future nurses, we'd love to hear from you.
