Summary

Heinemann is seeking an Account Executive in Santa Barbara, CA to drive sales growth and develop customer strategies for educators. The role focuses on maximizing sales performance while providing exceptional service to school districts and educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities: Develop customer strategies and sales plans to exceed targets, prioritize high-value accounts, monitor competitor activities, and collaborate with internal teams. Respond promptly to customer inquiries, stay informed on market trends, and demonstrate deep knowledge of Heinemann product offerings and state/local educational initiatives.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in MS Office and Sales Management Software, strong questioning and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to analyze market trends. Knowledge of educational resources and proven consultative sales approach required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or Liberal Arts (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with proven sales experience and quota attainment. Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
Location: Santa Barbara, California (field sales position; candidate must reside in Santa Barbara)
Compensation: $75,000 – $80,000/year plus commission

Job Title: Heinemann Account Executive

Location: Field Sales(Candidate must live in Santa Barbara, California)

The Account Executive will be responsible for the following primary duties:

· Develop effective strategies to address customer needs and exceed sales targets.

· Prioritize high-value accounts and activities to maximize sales performance.

· Monitor and analyze competitors' activities to remain agile and adjust accordingly.

· Collaborate effectively with internal support teams to deliver superior customer experiences.

· Strategically plan sales calls with clear objectives and actionable steps.

· Stay informed of market trends and provide insightful recommendations to Area Management.

· Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of account history, processes, procedures, and key issues.

· Respond promptly and empathetically to customer inquiries and concerns to establish trust and credibility.

· Provide timely and comprehensive information to consultants and external resources to enable effective performance.

· Possess a deep understanding of all Heinemann product offerings and excellent questioning skills.

· Display a comprehensive knowledge of state and local initiatives to provide effective solutions to customers.

Education and necessary experience:

· This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing or Liberal Arts OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Sales experience with a proven track record of meeting quota.

· Proficient in MS Office and Sales Management Software.

Must have a valid California drivers license and an acceptable driving record.

Salary Range:

$75,000 - 80,000 plus commission
