Qualifications: 8+ years of relevant experience in Azure Architecture, DevOps, or SRE roles with production-level cloud infrastructure expertise. Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices, containerization, and cloud security principles.

At Degreed, we’re on a journey to modernize and scale our platform—and we’re looking for a Senior Azure Engineer/Architect who thrives in Azure environments and brings hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD and Terraform. This is a high-impact role where you’ll help lead key initiatives to improve reliability, performance, and developer experience as we continue migrating toward container-based services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform.
  • Help define and improve our cloud infrastructure on Azure.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to streamline deployments and build robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support our shift toward containerization (e.g. Kubernetes).
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to support growth, scalability, and automation.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support uptime and stability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience in software engineering, including coding and technical problem-solving 
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud infrastructure in a production environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools.
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem
  • Expertise with the latest CI/CD tools such as GHA, Azure Devops, ArgoCD, FluxCD etc.
  • Well-versed in the principles of cloud security, with a practical mindset toward secure infrastructure design.
  • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with distributed teams.
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Azure Architecture, DevOps/SRE or similar roles.

Compensation

We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The total pay range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
