Senior InfoSec Engineer role focused on designing and developing advanced control solutions and automation systems for oil and gas drilling equipment. This position supports HMH's digital innovation portfolio through secure system integration and reliability enhancement.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement secure software solutions for HMH control systems, ensure seamless integration with other products, and maintain comprehensive documentation of deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional and aftermarket teams to support installed base systems while upholding company standards.
Skills & Tools: Advanced proficiency in HMI software (WinCC, Cimplicity), programming languages (VBA, C++, C#), Siemens PLC platforms, SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus). Strong analytical and communication skills in English and Portuguese with proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field. Demonstrated experience with PLC programming, industrial control systems, oil and gas/offshore drilling applications, and pressure control systems.

Compensation: $140K–$185K/yr (estimated)

Summary

As the Automation & Control System Engineer at HMH, you will design and develop advanced control solutions for cutting-edge equipment and systems within the oil and gas industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting the reliability, innovation, and enhancement of our digital technology portfolio. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement software solutions for HMH control systems and products.

  • Ensure seamless integration of solutions with other products and systems

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and diligently manage software deliverables.

  • Collaborate closely with the aftermarket team to support our installed base. 

  • Uphold HMH’s vision, values, strategies, policies, and standards in all professional activities. 

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Systems, Computer, Mechatronics, or a related field

Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in:  
  • HMI software (e.g., WinCC, Cimplicity) 
  • Programming languages (e.g., VBA, C++, C#) 
  • Siemens PLC platforms using Simatic Classic / TIA Portal and DasyLab. 
  • PLC languages: FEB, STL, SCL and other Structural Language 
  • Experience with: 
  • Industrial Networks: Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus 
  • Process and/or machine control systems in an industrial environment 
  • Application within the oil and gas industry, particularly offshore drilling equipment, and pressure control systems 
  • Familiarity with:  
  • SCADA systems 
  • Database management (e.g., SQL) 
  • Instrumentation and electrical circuits (preferred)  

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and effective communication skills (English and Portuguese)
  • Proven ability to collaborate and thrive within cross-disciplinary teams. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.
