Job Description
Gaggle is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support daily human resources operations and provide guidance to employees and management. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting and optimizing workforce operations across employees and contractors by managing HR systems, employment compliance, onboarding and offboarding processes, leave administration, and workforce documentation. This role serves as a key operational partner to leadership, ensuring scalable and compliant HR practices that support organizational growth.
The HR Generalist oversees employee lifecycle processes, multi-state compliance initiatives, contractor workforce governance, and HR operational workflows while maintaining accurate documentation and audit readiness across all HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, status changes, and HRIS updates.
- Maintain compliant and audit-ready employee records, I-9 documentation, personnel files, and HR documentation.
- Support multi-state employment compliance, including required reporting, policy updates, unemployment claims, and wage garnishments.
- Own background check workflows for employees and contractors, including administration, documentation retention, compliance review, and escalation support.
- Oversee contractor onboarding, documentation, agreements, and compliance workflows.
- Manage employee leave and accommodation documentation, including FMLA, ADA, and state-paid leave requirements.
- Support managers and employees with HR guidance, policy interpretation, and employee relations matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and employee experience initiatives.
- Maintain HR SOPs, templates, and internal resources to support scalable HR operations.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-3 years of HR, HR Operations, or Human Resources Generalist experience
- Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws
- Experience supporting onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes
- Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience supporting contractor workforce administration
- Experience with Paychex (HRIS), Breezy, or Confluence
- Experience with leave administration and compliance tracking
- General understanding of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
