Summary

Integrations Business Analyst (Contractor) role at Macmillan Learning's MPS division, responsible for documenting and facilitating software integration projects by bridging technical and business stakeholders. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on software integration projects and demonstrated expertise in creating technical specifications and process documentation. Knowledge of integration standards and the ability to model workflows and data environments.
Location: Fully remote
Compensation: Estimated: $65,000 – $85,000/year based on contractor status, business analyst role, Virginia location, and publishing industry standards

Job Description

MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for an Integrations Business Analyst (Contractor) in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.

MPS is looking for an Integrations Business Analyst (Contractor) specializing in documenting integrations. They will play a crucial role in bridging the technical and business aspects of software integration projects. They are responsible for analyzing, documenting, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of different systems or software applications. This role involves a deep understanding of both the business requirements and the technical capabilities of the systems involved. Here’s a detailed job description:


Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Gathering:

  • Elicit and collect integration requirements from business stakeholders.
  • Conduct meetings and workshops with stakeholders to understand business processes and integration needs.

2. Documentation:

  • Create detailed documentation of business requirements, including integration points, data mappings, workflows, and system interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, integration guides, and process documentation.

3. Analysis:

  • Analyze and model the current state of data, workflows, and processes to understand integration impact.
  • Identify opportunities for improving or streamlining business processes through integration.

4. Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including project team members, management, vendors, and other relevant parties.
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on software integration projects.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex workflows and data.

• Excellent documentation skills, with experience creating technical specifications, diagrams, and process maps.

• Good knowledge of integration technologies and standards (e.g., APIs, EDI, Web Services).

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
