Role Snapshot
Principal Consulting Engineer at CDW specializing in VMware Cloud Foundation architecture, responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing private cloud infrastructure built on VCF 9.0. Serves as technical authority driving standardization and automation across software-defined data center strategy.
Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end VCF 9.0 deployments, design workload domains and cluster configurations, and manage migration of existing VMware workloads into VCF-managed infrastructure. Develop automations, create architectural documentation, provide technical governance to delivery teams, and interface with customer executives on complex technical solutions.
Skills & Tools: Expert-level knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, and NSX with hands-on automation capabilities using PowerCLI, Terraform, and Aria Automation. Strong ability to develop standards, mentor teams, communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders, and balance customer project goals with financial constraints.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with 10 years of IT Infrastructure experience including at least 3 years in large enterprise consulting, and 7+ years specifically in enterprise virtualization or private cloud architecture. Hands-on expertise with VCF 4.x/5.x and working knowledge of VCF 9.0 required.
Location: United States
Compensation: $158K–$200K/yr
