ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance & Accounting Team is responsible for ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization, supporting planning and forecasting, delivering timely and accurate insights, and partnering across teams to enable strong decision-making. We work closely with leaders across the organization to ensure resources are aligned to advance our mission and maximize impact.
We are seeking a Strategic Finance professional who brings curiosity, analytical rigor, and a strong ability to translate data into action. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations, partnering closely with senior leadership to analyze and understand our financial position, shape priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive key organizational decisions. A core focus of this role is developing and refining models that inform pricing, demand, and revenue strategy. Drawing on experience with commercial or consumer-oriented approaches, you will help the organization better understand the drivers of growth, sustainability, and program impact. You will build insights grounded in both financial analysis and a deep understanding of the underlying economics of our programs.
Working closely with the CFAO, CEO, and President, you will lead forecasting and planning efforts, evaluate strategic opportunities, and assess new initiatives and operating models. You will partner cross-functionally with program, development, and sales teams to align on priorities and develop financial models and budgets to support them. You will work closely with your Finance colleagues to manage financial operations and evaluate financial outcomes.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES
- Build and own financial and operating models that inform pricing, demand, revenue strategy, and long-term planning
- Generate insights from financial and operational data to drive strategic decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and improve performance
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including scenario planning and variance analysis
- Work with the CEO and VP of Development to determine short- and long-term fundraising needs, develop grant budgets, and manage expenditures against grants
- Partner cross-functionally with program, development, and sales teams to align on priorities, track performance, and support execution
- Synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and the Board
- Evaluate new programs, partnerships, and growth opportunities through financial modeling and ROI analysis

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, economics or related analytical field
- Experience with commercial/consumer modeling and/or SAAS
- 4+ years of experience in FP&A role, corporate finance, consulting or investment banking, etc.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work easily with people at all levels of the organization
- Team player with a willingness and eagerness to help
- Self-starter able to work independently
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with database applications like Excel VBA and other data analysis tools
ROLE CLASSIFICATION AND BENEFITS
This role is remote, part-time, and includes benefits such as rich medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 paid days off per year (prorated for the period in which you work), paid parental leave, a professional development budget and a quarterly cell phone subsidy. The role may offer the opportunity to convert to a full-time position within 6โ12 months.
The hiring salary range for this role is $48,000 - $53,000 and will be commensurate with experience. We have a hiring salary range of $53,000 - $58,000 for specific higher cost of labor locations, which include New York City, Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco/Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle and their metro areas.
New Classrooms is a fully remote organization. All employees work from home, and occasionally travel for in-person get-togethers and off-sites.
