Role Snapshot

Senior Accountant responsible for supporting month-end close processes and maintaining accurate financial records for Thought Industries. The role ensures timely completion of accounting cycles while optimizing procedural efficiency across multiple accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and state sales tax reports while managing accounts payable/receivable processes including vendor payments, billing, and collections. Monitor daily bank activity, corporate credit card transactions, and employee expense reports through accounting systems.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in general ledger systems, account reconciliation, and month-end close procedures with attention to detail and deadline management. Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, tax reporting, and ability to identify process improvements.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of accounting experience in a similar role. Proficiency with accounting software and Bill.com platform required.
Location: In-Person - Boston, MA
Compensation: $75K–$95K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close process while meeting close deadlines. Responsibilities include but not limited to preparing month-end journal entries with supporting schedules

  • Prepare monthly / quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations 

  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including billing and collections, vendor management and payments, review and payment of employee expense reports

  • Monitor daily bank activity and record transactions in GL system

  • Monitor and approve corporate credit card transactions through Bill.com

  • Prepare monthly state sales tax reports and remittance of sales tax

  • Pinpoint and execute strategies to enhance procedural efficiency

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
