Summary

The Assessment Developer at Western Governors University creates and maintains objective and performance-based assessments while managing design and development processes to ensure assessment validity and reliability. This role is central to supporting WGU's mission of expanding access to competency-based higher education.

Key Responsibilities: Manages assessment design and development processes including milestones, timelines, and progress tracking; communicates project updates to cross-functional teams; organizes and facilitates assessment workshops; and oversees subject matter expert involvement in design, development, and validation.
Skills & Tools: Strong organizational and time management abilities, problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and adaptability. Knowledge of assessment design best practices, strategic and creative thinking, and ability to work efficiently in time-sensitive environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 3+ years of experience in assessment design and development required. Master's degree and project management experience preferred.
Location: Hybrid in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States (4 days on-site at headquarters, 1 day remote)
Compensation: $64,800 – $97,200/year
