The Research Engineering Scientist Associate I assists the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in evaluating and modifying standards, techniques, and procedures for public water systems design. This role supports the Plan and Technical Review Section of the Water Supply Division in ensuring compliance and quality in water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities: Evaluates, reviews, and selects standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for public water systems design. Adapts and modifies existing methodologies to support the technical review process for water supply projects.
Skills & Tools: Technical expertise in water systems engineering, standards evaluation, and public utility design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with the ability to review and modify technical procedures.
Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field with some experience in water systems or environmental compliance. Knowledge of public water system standards and regulations is preferred.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $45K–$50K/yr

The Research Engineering Scientist Associate I assists with the evaluation, review, selection, adaptation, and modification of standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for public water systems design for the Plan and Technical Review Section of the Water Supply Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

The annual salary for this position ranges from $45,000 -$50,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
