Summary

PowerSchool seeks a Renewal Manager to enhance the renewal process and drive customer retention in educational technology. The role focuses on managing a high-touch book of business and proactively engaging customers to maximize renewal and expansion opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, engaging with clients approximately 180 days before contract expiration to propose services, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and mitigate renewal risks. Maintain accurate Salesforce CRM data, forecast renewal pipelines, and collaborate with account teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Skills & Tools: Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and attention to detail combined with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Required proficiency in Salesforce or CRM systems and intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge, with ability to multitask and handle multiple projects with frequent interruptions.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; 4-6 years in Renewals Management is preferred. Must demonstrate strong customer service, conflict resolution abilities, and capacity to manage heavy workloads and meet metric deadlines.

Responsibilities

Description

The Renewals Operations team focuses on optimizing the renewal process, managing data, and improving efficiency within the renewals team. The team handles tasks such as forecasting, pipeline management, and renewal analytics to drive successful outcomes.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Oversee a high touch book of business
  • Engage with customers approx 180 days prior to expiration
  • Propose Services and training credits and Premium Support
  • Understand negotiation tactics
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell/expansion opportunities
  • Develop understanding of customer’s approval processes and budget cycle
  • Know how to identify risks and collaborate with overall account team and leadership to mitigate such risks
  • Maintain consistent updates of Salesforce CRM tool for pipeline management
  • Ensure accurate forecast of renewals pipeline as defined by the business

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet metric deadlines
  • Strong problem solving, reasoning skills and an eye for details
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and multiple projects with frequent interruptions and schedule changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce or prior CRM experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with an intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • 4-6 years’ prior experience in Renewals Management

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $62,100 - $85,700 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
