Skills & Tools: Strong relationship-building and communication abilities with proven presentation and negotiation skills; expertise in the K-12 education market, Salesforce proficiency, and ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with senior leadership.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, business, or related field with 5-10 years of account management or equivalent leadership experience in K-12 education; demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills preferred.

Compensation: Estimated: $95,000 – $125,000/year based on senior account manager role, K-12 education sector, Texas location, and HMH company size

Job title: Senior Account Manager, NWEA

Location: Remote, Texas

What you'll do: As a Senior Account Manager at NWEA, your pivotal role involves managing relationships within a targeted group of existing Partners, particularly focusing on large urban school systems across the United States. Reporting to a Senior Director, your responsibilities include fostering enduring connections, enhancing the value proposition for Partners, and contributing to NWEA's mission. Success in this dynamic role requires effective communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of the education market, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Your commitment to personal and team retention, renewal, and expansion goals, along with a willingness to travel (up to 40%) for events, underscores your dedication to engaging with Partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary NWEA account contact for a portfolio of strategically important Partners.
  • Ensure Partner loyalty and customer satisfaction for retention; establish communication strategy to uncover needs and resolve issues.
  • Engage with senior leaders in strategic Partner districts.
  • Strategically position new products and services, ultimately driving revenue growth, district expansion, and partner loyalty.
  • Achieve renewal and expansion targets defined by regional objectives.
  • Create and manage regional lead generation campaigns to secure renewal revenue and increase the level of district penetration.
  • Collaborate with senior Partner Accounts leadership and NWEA executive leadership on strategies to improve NWEA’s standing with Partners in key states.
  • Demonstrate effective lead follow-up into existing accounts, measured by expansion and the use of new products and services.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of new Account Managers.
  • Plan and prioritize new product, expansion, and retention activities in alignment with team and organizational goals.
  • Deliver effective webinars, introductions, and other sales calls.
  • Implement processes, procedures, and support materials to ensure efficiency.
  • Stay current and knowledgeable about NWEA Products and Services and the education market.
  • Inform Partners about features and benefits of products and services on a regular and proactive basis.
  • Use Salesforce to manage Partner opportunities and pipeline for renewals, expansions, and new products and services.
  • Present price, credit, and terms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organization.

Education and experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of account management or equivalent leadership experience within the K-12 education industry, with demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a desire to create a positive experience.
  • Experience with NWEA products, services, procedures, and implementation preferred.
  • Travel as required, up to 50%

Benefits and Salary Range

Salary Range - $90,000 to $95,000 + commission structure.
