Qualifications: Proven experience leading a multi-level sales team with demonstrated track record in new business development and sales management. Strong leadership development capabilities and ability to drive consistent results in a sales environment.

Job Description: THE OPPORTUNITY Help Schools Build Stronger Readers Scholastic is seeking a Manager of New Business to help lead out team grow and expand our Book Fair business. In this role, you will work with our New Business Consultants to drive bookings, maximize the performance of every fair, and build long-term partnerships that support student learning and literacy development. The Manager of New Business leads and coaches a team of New Business Consultants responsible for acquiring new schools and districts. This is a hands-on, execution focused role centered on coaching, performance management, pipeline discipline and consistent delivery against team goals. This leader drives results by executing defined new business strategies, reinforcing strong sales fundamentals. And holding reps accountable to prospecting, pipeline quality, and conversion standards. Success is measured by predictable goal attainment, healthy pipelines, rep execution and sustained growth in new accounts. This role requires experience leading a multi-level sales team, strong coaching and leadership development capabilities. The ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into action. This is a remote/home-based role that collaborates closely with cross-functional teams. In addition to the annual salary, Scholastic offers a bonus program which includes the opportunity to earn annual incentives. ________________________________________ RESPONSIBILITIES What You’ll Do Execute established new business strategies and operating plans by translating assigned team revenue and fair count targets into clear individual goals, activity expectations, and execution standards. Own delivery of team level results by closely monitoring rep performance, identifying gaps early, and taking corrective action to ensure consistent achievement of goals and KPIs. Coach, mentor, and develop New Business Consultants through disciplined, hands-on leadership while owning team pipeline health and forecasting accuracy. Reinforce a coaching first approach focused on skill development, performance management, and execution consistency. Lead execution of prospecting efforts across new schools and districts by coaching research driven outreach and messaging aligned to school and district priorities. Partner with Sales Operations, Marketing, and Enablement to support execution of new business initiatives at the team and rep level. Support onboarding and ramp execution for newly hired New Business Consultants to ensure timely productivity and performance readiness. Set clear expectations for prospecting activity, pipeline discipline, deal strategy execution, and conversion standards, and conduct regular pipeline, call, and deal reviews to improve opportunity quality, velocity, and close rates. Drive consistent CRM and reporting discipline and provide clear forecast inputs, risks, and insights to the Director of New Business. ________________________________________ WHY JOIN SCHOLASTIC?
