Key Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a high-performing engineering team, set technical direction for AI/ML initiatives, and oversee the development of agent security and attack simulation features. Drive product delivery, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure code quality and engineering best practices across the AI Engineering organization.

Skills & Tools: Strong leadership and people management experience, deep expertise in AI/ML engineering, software architecture, and cloud technologies. Excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and ability to drive technical excellence while maintaining team morale and fostering innovation.

Qualifications: 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in management roles, proven track record leading distributed engineering teams, and demonstrable expertise in AI/ML systems. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

As a Principal Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead a full-stack AI engineering team of data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, and data engineers - building the data pipelines, models, services, and endpoints that power our products end-to-end. You'll set the technical direction across the stack, turn applied research into production systems, and grow the people doing the work.

Responsibilities:

Manages other Software Engineering Managers
May also lead a software team that develops software using the KnowBe4 Software Development Lifecycle and Agile Methodologies
Translates KnowBe4's strategic goals into operational plans.
Provides coordination across functional and divisional boundaries
Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight

To thrive in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in software engineering and a background in product development. The following skills are essential:

Education and Technical Experience:

BS or equivalent plus 10 years technical experience
MS or equivalent plus 5 years technical experience
Ph.D. or equivalent plus 4 years technical experience
8 years experience managing software development teams
Training in secure coding practices (preferred)
