Summary

SMB Account Executive responsible for executing the full sales cycle for KnowBe4's Security Awareness Training Platform, from prospecting to closing net new business deals in the assigned territory. Success in this role can lead to promotion opportunities in Mid-Market or Enterprise sales.

Key Responsibilities: Run online product demos, identify and qualify prospects through cold calling and networking, build and maintain a pipeline of potential customers, and achieve monthly sales quotas. Maintain accurate CRM records, follow up on marketing leads, and articulate the value proposition of KnowBe4's security products to decision makers.
Skills & Tools: Strong sales acumen with excellent verbal and written communication abilities, proficiency with Salesforce and Gmail, and data-driven decision making. Preferred skills include familiarity with IT Security concepts, Network or Security Plus certification, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications: 1-3 years of software sales experience in the SMB space, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Proven track record in sales with demonstrated ability to close net new business and manage complex sales cycles.
Location: Clearwater, Florida, United States (Hybrid; must be located in greater Tampa Bay area)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $50,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

As an Account Executive in the SMB (Small and Medium-sized Business) space, you will be at the forefront of company growth initiatives, responsible for executing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals. You will run online demos of the KnowBe4’s Security Awareness Training Platform and close net new business. After demonstrating success in this market, promotion to Mid-Market or Enterprise sales could be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell KnowBe4’s range of products and services
  • Identify and close net new customers in the assigned territory
  • Build and maintain pipeline of potential customers by developing and managing relationships with prospects
  • Forecast new business prospects that result in successful client relationships and sales
  • Identify key decision makers while developing and qualifying new business opportunities within the targeted markets through cold calling, networking and high-level prospecting
  • Articulate the value proposition of KnowBe4’s products and help the customer understand how it will improve their business’s security awareness training (and security overall)
  • Achieve or exceed monthly quotas and/or targets 
  • Be well versed in KnowBe4’s product offerings and promote the products and services at trade shows as requested
  • Follow up on marketing leads to generate new sales opportunities and pipeline
  • Act strategically in offering or negotiating discounted pricing, in line with established policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records for customer calls, emails, notes, tasks, demos and other relevant information in compliance with the Administration Policy 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus 
  • Proven track record in sales 
  • 1-3 years selling software to Small Medium Enterprise a plus
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the IT Security Field
  • Experience with Salesforce and Gmail
  • Network or Security Plus preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Stats driven business professional
  • Motivated, energetic self-starter
  • Strong collaborative and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
