Job Description

About the Role:

iMentor is seeking a visionary Vice President of Growth to lead the expansion of our national partnerships — and help shape the next chapter of what mentoring can look like for young people everywhere. This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly defined leadership role at a pivotal moment in our organization’s history.

After more than 25 years of running mentoring programs ourselves, we know we have something significant to offer the broader mentoring world — and we’re ready to share it. The VP of Growth will be at the center of that work, charged with building the strategy, systems, and team needed to bring our model to partners across the country. This role sits on our executive leadership team and will be a key architect of iMentor’s next strategic plan, with a direct line to our goal of supporting one million mentoring relationships by 2035.

The Opportunity:

This is genuinely exciting work. You’ll help us define our best markets, build the pipelines to community, education, and corporate partners, and ensure every partner we work with has a best-in-class experience. You’ll lead both a Partnership Development Team and a Partner Experience Team, overseeing the full partner lifecycle from first contact through long-term success.

You’ll also play a hands-on role in partnership strategy — helping define what programs and models we offer to partners, ensuring quality across the board, and expanding access to mentoring for young people who haven’t had it before. This role will grow alongside the portfolio it builds.

What You'll Do:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Serve on iMentor’s executive leadership team and contribute meaningfully to the next five-year strategic plan

  • Define iMentor’s best markets and develop the strategic direction for national partnership growth

  • Lead design and content strategy to shape the programs and models we offer to partners

  • Represent iMentor nationally as a senior spokesperson and relationship holder

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive business development across community, education, and corporate partner segments

  • Build and manage pipelines for new partner identification, cultivation, and conversion with the business development team

  • Oversee proposal drafting and strategic renewal processes

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for high-priority partners and prospects

Partnership Experience & Quality

  • Ensure every partner receives a best-in-class experience from intake through active implementation

  • Build and refine the systems and processes that make partnership work scalable and sustainable

  • Oversee onboarding, implementation support, and day-to-day partner management through the Support Team

  • Champion quality control across all partnership programming and delivery

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five, with growth opportunities as the portfolio expands

  • Oversee both the Growth Team (pipeline development, cultivation, proposals) and the Support Team (intake, onboarding, ongoing partner management)

  • Build a team culture rooted in excellence, partnership, and shared purpose

What Success Looks Like:
  • Partnership team is reaching 8,000 students annually through active partner programs

  • Increase iMentor’s earned revenue from 6% to 12% of our annual revenue over your first two years

  • A well-defined market strategy and a robust, healthy pipeline of prospective partners

  • Efficient, documented systems that allow the team to both ‘sell’ new partnerships and deliver exceptional ongoing support

  • A high-performing team that is set up to grow alongside the portfolio

  • iMentor recognized nationally as the go-to partner for organizations seeking to launch or improve quality mentoring programming

How Your Time Will Be Spent:
  • 40% — Sales & business development

  • 40% — Partnership offering & experience leadership

  • 20% — Team leadership and management

The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for a seasoned leader with experience building meaningful partnerships with higher ed institutions and community-based organizations, who brings together strategic vision, ed-tech sales instincts, and a deep commitment to relationships — someone who can build something new while earning trust at every level. • Mission & Values Alignment: A strong belief in iMentor's mission, core values, and commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative community that welcomes the perspectives of all individuals.

  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a natural ability to inform, inspire, and connect — whether in an intimate team setting or in front of a broader audience. Comfortable engaging stakeholders at every level, inside and outside the organization.

  • Collaboration: A proven ability to bring people together and demonstrate the power of relationships — cultivating strong partnerships with colleagues and external stakeholders alike to create outcomes that no one could achieve alone.
