Who You Are
Brightwheel is seeking an exceptional Senior Human Resources Business Partner to drive department-level people strategy and serve as a trusted advisor across multiple teams. The right candidate can transition seamlessly from 1:1 coaching and employee relations to designing big picture structures and strategies. You believe that candor is kindness; you demonstrate empathy for all team members while balancing company goals. You are an AI-fluent operator who actively leverages AI tools to scale your impact, and you are energized by mentoring and developing other HRBPs and People team members. What You'll Do
Build, scale and improve employee-facing processes that help teams thrive: You'll work on projects focused on performance management, annual reviews, employee engagement, career pathing and development, workforce planning, feedback and reviews, and compensation.
Mentor and develop the HRBP team: Serve as a thought partner and coach to other HRBPs; share frameworks, advise on complex ER situations, and actively raise the capability of the team around you.
Support talent development & career pathways: You'll work on processes like talent planning, performance calibrations, compensation to ensure we are growing and rewarding our best talent competitively.
Coach and develop managers: Proactively partner with your managers to maintain a high-performance culture, hold their teams accountable, and operate with inclusivity.
Be a voice for our employees: Advise and support managers and team members through a wide variety of complex employee relations situations; ensure that all voices and perspectives are heard.
Leverage AI to scale your impact: Use AI tools to accelerate your work across employee relations documentation, policy drafting, manager coaching prep, engagement survey analysis, and workforce planning; identify and build AI-enabled workflows that raise the bar for the broader People team.
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities
Proven experience in a business partner role in a fast-growth environment
Track record of developing peers and junior team members; comfortable serving as a coach and capability multiplier on a People team, not just an individual contributor
Ability to proactively build relationships, offer expert insight, and drive impact with your business partners; you are confident and comfortable working with senior leaders and demonstrate the ability to challenge or dissent while maintaining a strong and productive relationship
Ability to navigate challenging employee situations and conversations with impeccable judgment; strong experience and pattern recognition in handling a wide range of HR questions and interpersonal situations
High empathy approach coupled with communication that is clear and candid, driving the right outcomes for employees and the business
Top-notch critical thinking and root cause problem solving abilities; the ability to diagnose a cultural or management enablement issue and drive a strategy to make improvements
Ability to independently prioritize in a fast-paced environment and manage complex process and projects end-to-end
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to write or edit critical documents from performance plans to annual reviews to employee policies and communications
Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) in day-to-day work to draft, analyze, synthesize, and accelerate output; bias toward integrating AI into core HR workflows rather than treating it as a side experiment
