The Regional Sales Executive drives new business growth and revenue targets in the Midwest/West territory for Jenzabar, a higher education software solutions company. The role involves developing sales strategies, building executive relationships, and managing complex consultative software sales while collaborating with account and customer success teams.

Key Responsibilities: Develops and executes sales strategies to achieve revenue goals, prepares business plans, manages new business opportunities and RFPs, and coordinates sales activities from presentations to product demonstrations. Maintains customer satisfaction, manages complex sales situations, prepares proposals with negotiation ability, and travels approximately 50% of the time.
Skills & Tools: Requires excellent presentation and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to build strong executive relationships, and demonstrated consultative selling expertise in complex B2B software environments. Must possess knowledge of contracts and terms & conditions, ability to influence prospects, and a competitive, results-oriented mindset.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (or equivalent education/experience) with substantial experience in complex consultative software and services sales and recent sustained over-quota achievement. Higher education industry experience preferred but not required; demonstrated career stability is essential.

Job Description

The Regional Sales Executive (RSE) is responsible for the overall sales strategy in the specified sales territory (Midwest/West). The specified sales territory will include current customers as well as non-customers. While the RSE works collaboratively with other members of the territory team on customer relationships and upgrades, the primary role of the RSE is to grow new logo business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes sales strategies designed to achieve revenue goals and demonstrate consistent and predictable performance
  • Prepares and presents quarter, half year and annual business plans to Sales Directors as requested
  • Works collaboratively with Account Executive and Customer Success Managers in specified sales territory on customer retention, relationships and upgrades
  • Follows up new business opportunities
  • Responds to qualified RFP’s
  • Demonstrates ability to build strong executive relationships and sell within traditional IT and non-IT business units
  • Plans, prepares and coordinates all sales related activities from executive presentations to product demonstrations
  • Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty with prospects through-out and after the sale to ensure a successful implementation and maximum customer satisfaction
  • Manages complex sales situations and large projects, influencing prospects and customers and defuse potential problems by using your knowledge of complex business challenges to identify solutions
  • Prepares and delivers proposals and contracts with the ability to negotiate standard and non-standard T&Cs
  • Remains knowledgeable about Jenzabar’s products and services to facilitate sales efforts
  • 50% travel is anticipated
  • Ability to cover a Midwest/West territory

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Substantial experience in complex consultative software and services sales
  • Experience in Higher Education preferred but not required
  • Recent and sustained over-quota achievement
  • Demonstrated career stability
  • Basic understanding of contracts and terms & conditions
  • Excellent presentation skills (to various audiences - executives & individual contributors)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop applications.

The base salary pay range for this position is $70,000-$84,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a substantial incentive plan as well as a full range of benefits.
