KIPP Jacksonville seeks middle school Computer Education and Keyboarding teachers for grades 5-8 in the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on helping students make informed academic and career decisions while providing hands-on instruction in computer fundamentals, keyboarding, word processing, and business applications.

Key Responsibilities: Teach introductory keyboarding, word processing, electronic presentations, computer hardware, internet skills, and business applications to middle school students in grades 5-8. Deliver instruction in a laboratory setting using hands-on experiences with appropriate equipment, materials, and technology aligned with current industry practices.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in computer applications (keyboarding, word processing, presentation software) and business technology fundamentals. Excellent communication and instructional skills with the ability to engage middle school students and adapt content to diverse learning styles.
Qualifications: Valid Florida teaching certification or eligibility for middle school education with subject matter expertise in computer education. Prior experience teaching technology, keyboarding, or business applications preferred.
Location: In-Person - Jacksonville, FL
Compensation: $42K–$58K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks middle school teachers for our fifth through eighth-grade classrooms in the 2026- 2027 school year. 

The purpose of this course is to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and occupational goals and to provide information regarding careers in the Business Management and Administration career cluster. The content includes but is not limited to instruction in introductory keyboarding, introductory word processing, introductory electronic presentation, introductory computer hardware, introductory Internet, and skills for business applications.

Instruction and learning activities are provided in a laboratory setting using hands-on experiences with the equipment, materials and technology appropriate to the course content and in accordance with current practices.

Please note that fifth grade is considered part of our middle school model.
