As Field Marketing Manager for Higher Education, you are responsible for ensuring that our many trade show presences go off without a hitch. You’re also supporting some of our owned events, including webinars, and working on backend campaign processes like campaign setup, list uploads, event brief documentation, vendor sourcing/setup, and budget tracking. 

You plan, run and report on these shows to ensure that we are creating meaningful engagements for our customers and prospective customers. 

The Field Event Manager is part of the Higher Education marketing team. Your will report to the Director of Higher Education Marketing and work on a team that includes demand generation, account based marketing, digital media and content marketing. You’ll work hand-in-hand with many internal stakeholders across Instructure, including other marketing departments, Sales, Customer Success, Sales Development, Finance, Operations, Community and more! 

To be successful you will blend your passion for customer experiences with your creativity, exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, negotiate and secure sponsorships and venues for specific events assigned including hotels, vendors and other resources for the event project
  • Develop and maintain overall project plan and manage deliverables in a timely and effective manner with a keen attention to detail
  • Communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis regarding project status, including taking the lead on Events meetings
  • Write events and campaign briefs and keep track of events on associated documents
  • Create effective company listings and ads if required 
  • Work with sales drive teams and other stakeholders to execute all event deliverables before, during and after events
  • Execute event plan including on-site support (travel may be required)
  • Conduct post-event feedback meetings and document in retrospective analysis 
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and vendors to determine needs and work with company resources to enable execution of event tactics
  • Manage operational and administrative functions, including pre-event meetings to ensure event is delivered successfully
  • Maintain and order event support materials
  • Manage and adhere to budget

  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management 
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to manage event budget and invoicing processes 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite or Google Suite and project management software like Asana.
