The Financial Solutions Sales Specialist is an experienced sales leader who partners with Account Executives to identify and cultivate new prospects in the nonprofit, healthcare, and education sectors using Blackbaud's financial solutions (FE NXT). This role requires consultative selling expertise and deep understanding of nonprofit financial operations to penetrate assigned territories and exceed revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Manage sales activities to exceed revenue targets, build and execute territory plans using solution selling methodology, prospect and qualify leads, coordinate demonstrations and proposals, and maintain accurate sales pipelines and forecasts. Partner with Account Executives on strategy development, participate in discovery calls and RFP responses, and ensure successful customer onboarding by working with customer success teams.
Skills & Tools: Strong financial operations and accounting domain knowledge with understanding of CFO office functions; demonstrated consultative selling abilities with excellent listening and need-development questioning skills. Proficiency in translating features into business benefits, delivering compelling presentations to executive and staff-level audiences, and managing complex sales cycles in regulated nonprofit environments.
Qualifications: Minimum 3+ years of experience with Blackbaud Financial Solutions or equivalent financial solutions experience; 5+ years of SaaS sales or nonprofit industry experience preferred. Financial operations/accounting domain expertise and understanding of nonprofit accounting concepts such as restricted fund accounting are mandatory.

Job Description

About the role The Financial Solutions Sales Specialist (FSS) is an experienced sales and business leader who will use their expertise in sales, financial information systems, accounting, and ultimately Blackbaud’s financial solutions (FE NXT) to partner with Account Executives in identifying and cultivating new prospects and penetrating existing customers within an assigned territory. Leveraging your consultative selling experience, ideally within the regulatory environment in which non-profits operate, you will be targeting hospital foundations, university advancement offices, or K-12 independent schools, cultivating and nurturing relationships with C-level decision-makers and conversing fluently with chief financial officers around the concepts of restricted fund accounting.   What you'll do Managing sales activities to exceed assigned revenue objectives Partner with Account Executives to create awareness for Blackbaud financial solutions  Help build and execute our holistic financial solutions sales strategy  Building out territory plans and executing against those plans by following Blackbaud’s solution selling methodology Prospect (cold calling, following up on leads, completing RFP's etc.) Provide and or coordinate appropriate resources such as online demonstrations and proposals when needed to educate clients and advance sales cycles Build and maintain an accurate pipeline and timely sales forecasts to management Develop a deep understanding of customer industry trends in the assigned territory Participate in discovery calls, RFP responses and solution demonstrations, and offer compelling points of view and business cases about how Blackbaud can help customers overcome challenges  Deliver bookings results vs. targets  Participate in sales forecasting with shared accountability for forecast accuracy              Understand the competitive landscape  Maintain post-sale connections with clients, measure value received, and develop references  Partner with customer success managers to create a successful onboarding experience for our customers    What you'll bring Financial operations and/or accounting domain experience is required as an understanding of the office of the CFO is mandatory.   Ideally, 3+ years of experience working with Blackbaud Financial Solutions or equivalent financial solutions experience   Ideally, 5+ years of SaaS sales experience or equivalent nonprofit industry experience  Strong listening skills; demonstrated ability to ask effective need-development questions   Ability to influence others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication   Experience developing & delivering presentations both to executive-level & staff-level audiences  Ability to translate features & functionality into business benefits & client value  Ability to travel as needed, but no more than 20% of the time  Stay up to date on everything Blackbaud, follow us on Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Blackbaud powers social impact through purpose‑driven technology and responsible AI. The starting base salary and annual proposed commission is $156,400.00 to $218,300.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, sales quota, Company finances, and other operational considerations.
