Senior Software Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring quality and user experience across TurnItIn's applications by developing comprehensive testing strategies and automation frameworks. This role provides technical leadership in quality assurance while owning moderate to complex architecture developments and serving as a POC for technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities: Define and implement QA best practices including test strategies, plans, and cases; design, write, and maintain automated and manual tests with frameworks for UI testing; investigate and track defects while participating in code releases and reviews. Provide leadership and mentoring to teams while leveraging AI coding assistants to optimize test framework scripting and generate scalable test datasets.

Skills & Tools: Advanced expertise in test automation frameworks, functional and regression testing, CI/CD integration, and defect management; proficiency with UI test automation tools and prompt engineering for AI-assisted test generation. Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to stay current on testing tools and methodologies.

Qualifications: Extensive professional experience (7+ years) in software quality assurance with proven track record developing automation frameworks and implementing QA strategies at scale. Advanced knowledge of testing concepts, software development lifecycle, and ability to solve complex quality problems independently.

Job Description

The Senior Software Quality Engineer (SSQE) plays a critical role in assuring quality (adherence to requirements and user experience) by testing the company's applications. This role shares ownership over moderate to complex architecture developments, including strategy, plan, framework, and solution development. The SSQE is responsible for creating automation frameworks from scratch, solving high complexity problems, developing Continuous Testing (CT) models, and acting as a Point of Contact (POC) for technical guidance across the product domain. They exhibit advanced, wide-ranging experience, using in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, and concepts to develop and resolve complex models and procedures creatively and effectively.

Responsibilities:

Defines, develops, and implements quality assurance best practices and procedures: test strategies, test plans, test cases, and other quality-related assessments for their Domain.
Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and test planning.
Works collaboratively with their team during all project stages to provide in-process testing results.
Designs, writes, executes, and maintains automated and manual tests, as well as frameworks for UI tests.
Augments development teams by enhancing test coverage where needed.
Investigates, records, triages, and tracks defects, and verifies their fixes.
Participates in code releases and the code review process.
Stays up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Provides leadership, guidance, training, and mentoring to implement quality validations and initiatives for the domain.
AI Integration: Leverages generative AI coding assistants to optimize framework scripting, and implements prompt engineering methodologies to draft automated test workflows and generate scalable test datasets.
