The Editor/Proofer supports quality assurance for K–12 curriculum materials by reviewing editorial corrections and revisions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project guidelines. This role is essential to maintaining divisional standards of quality and instructional value throughout the content development cycle.

Key Responsibilities: Review and evaluate editorial corrections and manuscript revisions across multiple development cycles while tracking changes for consistency with internal policies and editorial guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve content issues, verify compliance with project schedules and budgets, and maintain efficient workflows.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in high school mathematics content and functions with strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate educational materials for clarity and accuracy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications: Experience in editorial review, proofreading, or content development, preferably in educational publishing or curriculum materials. Background in K–12 education or instructional design is beneficial; willingness to work outside normal business hours and travel as required.
Location: In-Person - Lewisville, TX
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $45,000 – $60,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Description

Bright Thinker is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Editor/Proofer to support the quality

assurance process in the development of K–12 curriculum materials. The successful candidate will play a

vital role in reviewing editorial corrections and responses to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment

with project guidelines, timelines, and budgets.


This position involves carefully evaluating changes to educational manuscripts throughout the

development cycle, enhancing overall content clarity and instructional value. The Editor/Proofer will

collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment to ensure all materials

meet divisional standards of quality and accuracy.

Requirements
  • Ensure changes align with project schedules, budgets, and content quality standards.

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflows and resolve content-related issues.

  • Perform special projects as assigned, which may include work outside normal business hours and travel, as required.
