Summary

Temporary Facilities Maintenance Technician role at StrongMind responsible for ensuring safe, comfortable workspaces through routine repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance. This position directly supports employee wellbeing and productivity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance including electrical, plumbing, painting, and drywall repairs; troubleshoot building systems; conduct routine inspections; complete work orders; and respond promptly to maintenance requests while maintaining safety compliance. Support vendor coordination, emergency response, and maintain detailed records of work performed.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, drywall repair, and painting with ability to safely operate hand and power tools. Strong judgment, initiative, problem-solving mindset, independent work ethic, and excellent communication skills required.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance or building services experience. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work safely on ladders or in confined spaces.

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $20.00 – $25.00/hour based on title, seniority, and location.

Role Summary:

StrongMind is looking for a temporary hands-on, proactive Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the smooth operation of our workspaces. This role ensures that our buildings are safe, comfortable, and functioning at their best so our team can do their best work. From routine repairs to preventative maintenance, your expertise will directly contribute to the wellbeing of our employees and the quality of our environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance across facilities, including electrical, plumbing, painting, and drywall repairs
  • Troubleshoot building system issues and perform timely, basic repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components
  • Complete work orders with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Safely operate hand and power tools to complete a wide range of maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, storage areas, and facilities
  • Support scheduling and coordination with third-party vendors and contractors
  • Ensure all repairs comply with local building codes and safety standards
  • Respond promptly to internal maintenance requests with professionalism and care
  • Record work performed and materials used through basic maintenance tracking tools
  • Stay alert to safety hazards and escalate concerns when needed
  • Participate in emergency response efforts when necessary (e.g., floods, fires, weather-related issues)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years in facilities maintenance, building services, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, drywall repair, and painting
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and a solutions-focused attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and safely work on ladders or in confined spaces
  • Excellent communication and customer service mindset
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Background check clearance
  • Experience supporting multiple commercial locations or campuses
  • Basic HVAC or carpentry experience
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking systems or apps

Team Dynamics:

You’ll work alongside our Facilities Technician and partner with internal departments across two sites. This is a role for a self-starter who’s just as comfortable working solo as they are jumping in to support the broader team.
