The Opportunity
Wonderschool is solving one of the most critical market problems in the U.S.: childcare access and affordability. We’re building an AI-powered platform that enables providers to operate financially sustainable childcare businesses at scale.
We’ve raised over $50M from Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, and other top investors, and are a Series B company focused on product growth and operational leverage.
As Product Manager for Fintech & Payments, you will own core financial products that drive usage, revenue, and profitability. You’ll move fast, identify and ship high-leverage product improvements, and create tools that providers prefer over any alternative. This role is ideal for someone with strong product instincts, a builder’s mindset, and a clear focus on measurable business impact.
What You’ll Own
- Lead product development for tuition payments and other provider-facing financial tools
- Grow total payments volume, product adoption, and net revenue
- Improve provider NPS and reduce friction across the billing experience
- Drive profitability and improve unit economics through product and pricing strategy
- Work end-to-end with engineering, design, and data to ship features weekly
- Talk to providers every week and turn insights into product decisions
- Use modeling, experimentation, and data to drive prioritization and iteration
- Scale internal workflows and product surfaces using AI and automation tools
What You’ll Need
- Strong product judgment and an instinct for what users want
- Background as a software engineer or ability to work deeply with engineering teams
- Experience with payments, fintech, or in a high-bar finance role (e.g., investing, banking)
- Proven track record of delivering 0→1 products that generate measurable financial results
- Strong analytical thinking; can model impact and drive decisions with data (SQL or similar is a plus)
- Extreme ownership and urgency — ships fast, iterates constantly, and fixes broken experiences
- Bias toward outcomes — knows how to set and hit aggressive goals
- Interest in small business empowerment, with a preference for those who’ve built or supported business owners
- Based in San Francisco, with the ability to work in-office 3–5 days/week
What Success Looks Like
- Payments volume and adoption grow significantly month-over-month
- Providers prefer our financial tools and use them to grow their income
- Unit economics improve meaningfully through product changes
- High NPS and reduced support load signal strong usability and product-market fit
- You identify quick wins, iterate fast, and consistently ship value
