Nelnet is seeking a Regional Director for Private Student Loan Sales in the Eastern United States, responsible for developing and retaining business relationships with postsecondary institutions to drive student loan sales.

Responsibilities: The Regional Director will manage the sales process, develop a sales plan, build relationships with financial aid officers, and provide competitive market insights while exceeding sales goals.

Skills: Candidates should possess strong sales experience in financial aid, excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in communications, business or related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of sales and financial aid experience in higher education and proven sales success.

Compensation: $75000 - $95000 / Annually

The Nelnet Bank Regional Director is responsible for developing new business relationships and retaining existing relationships with postsecondary institutions, establishing Nelnet Bank Student Loans on preferred lender lists, and driving loan volume through the school channel. He/she must have proven success in selling (and presenting) to financial aid and higher education professionals in postsecondary institutions in the assigned territory. The Regional Director will act as subject matter expert for the Nelnet Bank Student Loans program and must exceed established annual sales goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Exceed established annual performance goals consistent with corporate objectives as identified by management.

2. Manage the entire sales process from prospecting to close, using a consultative sales process.

3. Develop a sales plan for the assigned territory

4. Develop and maintain school relationships with key Financial Aid officers and other decision makers

5. Call on schools, coordinate RFP/RFI processes, attend industry conferences, and represent Nelnet Bank in the higher education market

6. Maintain ongoing contact with schools to communicate Nelnet Bank product features/benefits, track daily activities to record efforts

7. Provide competitive research and information for private student loan market and other industry related topics, communicating relevant trends and insights to management

8. Communicate with Product team and Operations teams any concerns, suggestions, or enhancements

**Pay Range for this role is - $75,000 - $95,000

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or a related field or a combination of education and related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum 3 years sales/financial aid experience with proven ability to sell and motivate others to sell financial products to postsecondary institutions. Prior experience working in higher education, financial services or education loan sales.

2. Specific experience with education financing products (federal and private student loans) or financial aid experience a plus.

3. Proven success in exceeding sales goals, with the ability to close deals.

15. Willingness to engage in direct customer calling and innovative school outreach activities.

16. Strong computer skills including sales management/data management software, presentation software, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

17. Proven ability to understand Nelnet's school and borrower facing technologies.

18. Courteous, persuasive and professional disposition, image, personality and reputation.
