Summary

Software Training Intern at Leepfrog Technologies assists in designing, developing, and executing training sessions for CourseLeaf, an academic operations platform used by over 500 colleges and universities. The intern will support the Software Training team in creating documentation and client training initiatives while gaining knowledge of the company's education technology products.

Key Responsibilities: Design and produce training sessions based on client needs, write and update product documentation for the Leepfrog User Community website, and assist with client training and instructional design initiatives. The intern will also act as a liaison between internal staff and the Training Team, manage follow-ups, and participate in special projects.
Skills & Tools: Outstanding communication and customer relationship skills with ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and manage multiple tasks. Strong public speaking, written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a self-starter mentality and attention to detail.
Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Technical Writing, Education, Communication, or related field with expertise in Windows OS and Microsoft applications. Strong work ethic, reliability, and passion for education and student success preferred.
Location: On-site in Coralville, Iowa, United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $15.00 – $25.00/hour based on title, seniority, and location.

Status: Temporary / Seasonal Internship (Summer 2026)

Duration: Monday, May 26, 2026 – Friday, August 14, 2026

Overview:

Leepfrog Technologies’ primary product is CourseLeaf, an academic operations platform that supports curriculum, catalog, scheduling, registration, and syllabi management. Over 500 colleges and universities and 5.5 million students are using CourseLeaf to thrive.

The Software Training Intern would work alongside our team of Software Trainers to organize, coordinate, and fulfill training-related responsibilities at Leepfrog Technologies. This includes ensuring up-to-date documentation and training are provided to our CourseLeaf clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and attention-to-detail skills, have a basic knowledge of training and development, and have a passion for education and student success.

Duties:

  • Work alongside Software Trainers to design, develop, and produce training sessions based on client needs and internal staff requests
  • Gain a basic working knowledge of Leepfrog software and how it can be configured, customized, and implemented to meet client requirements.
  • Assist with writing and updating documentation needed for reference on Leepfrog products. This includes maintenance of knowledge-based content on the Leepfrog User Community website.
  • Partake in client training and instructional design initiatives within the Software Training team.
  • Act as a liaison between internal staff and the Training Team by appropriately directing questions. Ensure follow-up after answers have been determined.
  • Participate in Training and Client Success activities and/or special projects.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or just completed a degree in Technical Writing, Education, Writing and Composition, Communications, Instructional Design, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Possess expertise with Windows OS, Microsoft Word & Excel, Firefox, and other computer applications. 
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Customer service skills are required. 

Physical Requirements

The Software Training Intern is mostly sedentary while using office equipment and computers. The Training Intern may be located in a busy, open area office, and will be faced with regular interruptions.
