Summary

Lead a team of Sales Executives driving new sales of Elsevier's Nursing portfolio, which provides clinical eLearning and evidence-based education solutions to health systems. This role combines strategic sales leadership with direct responsibility for team development and revenue generation in the healthcare technology sector.

Key Responsibilities: Meet and exceed sales goals by leading and developing a high-performing team, recruiting and training Sales Executives, and managing territory business plans with focus on pipeline growth and strategic accounts. Provide continuous feedback to product and marketing teams, forecast new business opportunities, and build relationships with key decision makers at hospitals and health systems.
Skills & Tools: Demonstrated expertise in consultative selling, complex B2B healthcare sales, and team leadership with strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities. Must effectively influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed structure and possess knowledge of healthcare regulatory environments.
Qualifications: Proven track record of sales management in healthcare industry with preferred experience in SaaS and nursing solutions, coupled with college education and successful team management background. Must demonstrate ability to teach prospecting and closing processes leading to consistent quota achievement.
Location: Home based—Colorado, United States of America (30% travel required)
Compensation: $106,300 – $197,500/year base; Total Target Cash $163,500 – $303,600/year

Sales Director, Clinical Performance

About the Role

As the Sales Director, you'll be responsible to lead a team of highly successful Health System Sales Executives. You'll be responsible for new sales of the Nursing portfolio. You'll lead and develop top talent, inspire and energize, and deliver results. Our solution focus on nursing care teams, helping clinicians gain with procedural and skill development, clinical eLearning and make informed treatment decisions at the point of care.

Responsibilities

· Meeting and exceeding established sales goals.

· Inspiring and energizing the team to meet revenue goals.

· Recruiting, hiring and training new employees into high-performing Sales Executives.

· Setting clear goals and providing coaching and feedback to develop talent.

· Creating a territory business plan including strategies for increasing customer-focused activity and pipeline growth. Implementing big deal and strategic account management to consistently winning in the marketplace.

· Managing the business with metrics and data.

· Developing accurate forecasts of new business opportunities.

· Providing continuous feedback to product and marketing teams, participating in projects for continued product enhancements, and go to market strategies.

· Establishing credibility and building relationships with key decision makers and influencers at hospitals and health systems.

· Working collaboratively with various functional areas internally as well as with external stakeholders.

Networking with others; developing business relationships at multiple levels internally and externally.

Requirements

· Proven track record of sales management experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with SAAS and Nursing experience.

· Capable of teaching the process for successful prospecting & closing new business, leading to consistent quota achievement.

· Demonstrated experience with “Consultative Selling” to identify and solve customer problems.

· Experience selling technology solutions in a complex B2B/healthcare environment, with multiple influencers and decision makers.

· Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast new business opportunities and renewals.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organization to identify, develop and manage opportunities.

· Have a college education paired with successful team Management and Sales experience. Coupled with knowledge of the regulatory environment in health care.

· Communication (verbal and written) presentation skills; fluency in English.

· Able to effectively influence various non-reporting functions in a matrixed business structure.

· Able to travel as necessary, estimated to be 30% overnight.


Primary Location Base Pay Range: Home based-Colorado $106,300 - $197,500. Total Target Cash: $163,500 - $303,600. U.S. National Pay Range: $106,300 - $197,500, the TTC is $163,500 - $303,600. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. Pay mix between base and variable pay varies based on sales role; please discuss with the recruiter.
